Week 19 Fantasy Basketball Preview: February 27-March 5

The Fantasy Basketball playoffs are here. After weeks or even months of drafting players, making trades, and setting lineups, the playoffs offer the chance to compete for a championship. To compete for the championship,  general managers must carefully strategize their lineups and make crucial decisions in order to advance through each round. With that in mind, study your team’s schedule and categorical matchups against your opponent. Project your team’s statistics and identify opportunities to sharpen your strengths and turn your weaknesses into wins. Let’s get into this week’s schedule and streamers.  You know the drill.

Fantasy Basketball Streamers

The low nights for this week are Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Two teams cover those days: the Philadelphia 76ers and the Detroit Pistons. The 76ers have the best schedule with four games while the Pistons have 3. While these teams can help maximize your games played, make sure to stream for quality games as well. There are times when additional games will not help your team win.

PHILADELPHIA 76ERS (MON/WED/THURS/SAT)

  • De’Anthony Melton (SG): Melton’s numbers are down across the board in the past month making him tough to roster, but given the 76ers’ schedule this week, he makes for a good stream.
  • P.J. Tucker (PF): Tucker has not been reliable this season, but is picking up his play as of late. Tucker can add threes and rebounds if you are desperate for production and need to leverage the 76ers’ schedule.

DETROIT PISTONS (MON/WED/SAT)

  • James Wiseman (C): The frontcourt in Detroit is all of a sudden crowded, but with Duren out, Wiseman has an oppurtunity to provide double-double value.
  • Marvin Bagley III (PF/C): Perfect timing for Bagley as he returned and put up his biggest stat line as Duren misses time. Bagley has a messy fantasy game for categories, but if he can string together performances as he did on Saturday, Bagley could be a great streamer.
