Fantasy Football: Week 13 Rankings from Chris Meaney

Welcome to Week 13 which means the last week of the regular season and there’s a lot on the line for most so it’s important to check back close to kick off for the latest Week 13 rankings. Decisions seem tougher to make, but if I could give one piece of advice…trust the guys who got you here. Trust your gut and play the studs who have been studs for you during the season. There’s no need to get cute at this point in the season. Playing guys with a solid floor is the way to go if you need a win this week. It’s certainly a tough blow for Melvin Gordon and Leonard Fournette owners, and as you’ll see in my Week 13 rankings, there’s a few waiver wire pickups who are now start worthy. I’ve highlighted a few players I feel different about when it comes to the consensus on FantasyPros. If you have any questions you can always reach out – @chrismeaney.

Week 13 Rankings

Josh Allen, QB – Buffalo Bills @ MIA

Josh Allen is a top-20 quarterback for me this week due to his rushing ability. Of course you wouldn’t start him in a standard 12-team league, but you should in two-QB leagues. Allen only had 160 yards passing last week, but it was against as strong secondary in Jacksonville. It gets a bit easier this week against a Miami squad that has allowed the fourth-most total yards and rushing yards per game. Allen has four rushing touchdowns on the season and had 99 yards on the ground last week. His 14 red zone rushing attempts are two back of LeSean McCoy for the team high and he’s only played seven games. You have to love that Allen will call his own number when near the goal line. McCoy owners disagree.

Gus Edwards, RB – Baltimore Ravens @ ATL

Gus Edwards has finished in the top 10 in touches and carries in each of the last two weeks. He has 40 carries for 243 yards and a touchdown in those two games. Atlanta has allowed the seventh-most rushing yards per game, and the fourth-most fantasy points per game to backs. They’ve also given up 13 rushing touchdowns. Edwards may just be the saviour for a lot of fantasy teams because it seems like he’ll be a workhorse down the stretch for Baltimore.

Josh Doctson, WR – Washington Redskins @ PHI

I have Josh Doctson ranked as a WR3 in standard formats. Doctson is fresh off a season high 10 targets, six catches and 66 yards. His six catches were the most he’ve ever had. The Eagles have allowed the second-most catches to wideouts and the third-most yards to the position, which has resulted in the second-most fantasy points allowed per game to WR’s. Colt McCoy liked him some Doctson last week and I have a feeling he will again against a soft secondary.

Chris Conley, WR – Kansas City Chiefs @ OAK

As you know from the waiver wire article, I was high on Chris Conley before Sammy Watkins was ruled out this week. Conley made for a decent stash because of Watkins’ previous foot injuries and let’s be honest…KC doesn’t need Sammy healthy this week, they need him healthy in the playoffs. Conley caught seven passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs’ last game. This team has the highest team implied total of the week at 33.5. This of Conley as you would Josh Reynolds in Los Angeles. Good matchup with an opportunity to produce due to an injury in the wide receiver group.
