Two-Start Pitchers for Fantasy Baseball: Week 11 (6/13-6/19)

Here are the two-start pitchers for Week 11 (6/13-6/19) in fantasy baseball. As always, make sure to double-check the probable starting pitchers grid here at Fangraphs before you set your lineup. Pitching rotations are constantly changing. Let’s take a look at the two-start pitchers for Week 11!

Must-Start: These pitchers should be started regardless of match-up. They are a must-start in all leagues until further notice.

Should-Start: These pitchers should start in most leagues. However, these pitchers are not elite and are more subject to variance in performance.

Sleepers: These pitchers are high-variance but have some kind of combination of recent success and/or good matchups for the week.

Questionable: Only start these pitchers if you are in a very deep roto league, deep points leagues, desperate for counting stats, or feeling lucky.

Sit: Do not start these pitchers.

Week 11 Two-Start Pitchers

Must Start

Justin Verlander2.13@ TEXCHW
Logan Gilbert2.41MINLAA

Nestor Cortes1.96TB@ TOR
Sandy Alcantara1.61@ PHI@ NYM
Shane Bieber2.91@ COL@ LAD
Logan Webb3.77KC@ PIT
Cristian Javier3.22@ TEXCHW

Alek Manoah is 7-1 with a  1.81 ERA, with nine quality starts in his last 10 outings. The 24-year-old is doing a great job limiting hard contact while not walking batters. Although his strikeout percentage isn’t elite at 22.3%, he will still rack up plenty of strikeouts because of how far he goes in games.

Should Start

PitcherERAStart 1Start 2
Chris Bassitt4.35MILMIA
Corey Kluber3.88@ NYY@ BAL
Miles Mikolas2.93PIT@ BOS
Zach Eflin3.76MIA@ WAS

Zach Eflin has quietly had a great start to the season. In 55 innings, he has a 3.76 ERA, 2.75 xERA, and he has been one of the best pitchers in baseball at suppressing hard contact. Eflin takes on the Miami Marlins (3rd wRC+ vs righties) at home then the Washington Nationals (17th wRC+) on the road. Although I don’t love his profile, I cannot argue with his results so far this year.

Sleepers

PitcherERAStart 1Start 2
Alex Faedo2.92CHWTEX
Alex Wood4.23KC@ PIT
Merrill Kelly3.32CINMIN

Alex Faedo is only the sixth pitcher in MLB history to throw five-plus innings while only allowing two runs or fewer in his first seven starts. Simply put, he has been surprisingly good. He has a 2.92 ERA but his advanced stats suggest regression is coming. He has a 4.64 xERA and batters are consistently making hard contact. Luckily, this week he takes on the struggling Chicago White Sox (28th wRC+ vs righties) and the Texas Rangers (24th wRC+). Obviously, the chances of him getting you a win are small but I am riding this rookie until the wave crashes.

Alex Wood has two great matchups this week as he faces the Kansas City Royals and the Pittsburgh Pirates. It’s hard for me to recommend anyone who barely goes five innings a game but I cannot deny his 3.90 xERA with only a 6.4 walk percentage. The Royals rank 20th in wRC+ vs lefties while the Pirates are ranked 29th.

Questionable

PitcherERAStart 1Start 2
Adrian Houser3.92@ NYM@ CIN
Brady Singer4.33@ SF@ OAK
Ian Anderson4.53@ WAS@ CHC
Josiah Gray4.33ATLPHI
Blake Snell5.68@ CHC@ COL
Yusei Kikuchi4.44BALNYY

Ian Anderson has been a disappointment so far this year as he has a 4.53 ERA with 1.39 WHIP over 59.2 innings. He currently has a career-high 10.2 walk percentage and a career-low 19.6 strikeout percentage. Next week he faces two middling teams in the Washington Nationals (17th wRC+ vs righties) and the Chicago Cubs (16th wRC+). I wouldn’t start him in any league with less than 15 teams unless you are feeling lucky.
