MLB News and Notes: Week of May 21

It has been a while since I treated you to a trivia question. So with people losing their minds, as well as their FAAB budgets with recent call-ups like Juan Soto, here is a trivia question revolving around rookies. Who are the only two MLB players to win Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player in the same year? Answer at the end of the article. Juan Soto Gets the Call Even as I wrote about Juan Soto last week, I was still surprised to see the young prospect called up to the big leagues. The move was decided after…

Live Scouting Report: Peter Alonso

When it comes to prospects, the New York Mets organization isn't an ideal place to do your shopping. Coming into the season, only one Mets prospect cracked top-100 industry lists, and that was Andres Gimenez. None cracked my own top-100 dynasty prospect rankings here on Fantrax, with only one being close, and it wasn't Gimenez. That was so much fun, I decided to do it again this week. And I kind of have to. I mean, who just ranks American League prospects and neglects the National League? Not this guy, that's for sure. The National League is a little more top-heavy…

Dynasty Dugout: Prospects to Watch Outside the Top-100

The beauty of minor league prospects is that there's basically an endless supply of them. I recently finished my five-part top-100 prospects countdown and couldn't fit in all the prospects I wanted to. Maybe I should've done a top-150 or top-200 or something. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20. But since there are many more prospects I couldn't get to in that top-100, why not write another article with more impact prospects? Sounds like a great idea to me. Prospects are like popcorn, watermelon, or french fries. There's always…
