Keith Farnsworth’s Draft Day Targets

March is here, and that can only mean two things: Draft season starts now, and Tim Tebow is making headlines … again. I promised myself a long time ago that I wouldn’t include Tim Tebow in any of my baseball writing. As draft day approaches, I regret to inform everyone that I’ve broken that promise. “It’s a game,” Tebow says. “At the end of the day, that’s all it is, is a game. It doesn’t make you any better or any worse than anybody else. So by winning a game, you’re no better. By losing a game, you’re no worse.” I’d…

2018 Dudes and Don’ts: Catcher

Welcome to the 2018 series of Dudes and Don'ts! What is a Dude and a Don't, you ask? Well, essentially, a sleeper and a bust but with a fancier name. These are players that I like or dislike for the 2018 season, broken down by position. For each position I'll give you one Dude, one Don't, and one Deep League Dude. The exception to that will be for outfielders and starting pitchers, where I'll give some extra guys since those positions are deep. Join or start a fantasy baseball league at Fantrax today! 2018 Early MLB ADP: Bargains and Busts

What if I told you there was a third baseman with more home runs than Kris Bryant, more RBI than Josh Donaldson, more runs than Manny Machado, and a better batting average than Nolan Arenado in their last 750 plate appearances? Oh, yeah, and he was still being drafted in the 18th round? It’s true, baseball season is still months away, but we have enough draft data to give us a glimpse into what 2018 drafts could look like … and it's … well … a little weird. So let’s do it. LET’S GET WEIRD. Here are a few of my picks for…

Trade Analysis: Ryon Healy Sent to Mariners

It is not surprising that Seattle’s Jerry Dipoto started off the hot stove season by trading Emilio Pagan (RHP) and Alexander Campos (SS) to Oakland for Ryon Healy (1B/3B). For fantasy purposes, Healy’s value improved the most. With Matt Olson and Matt Chapman emerging as Oakland’s future at first and third baseman, respectively, the 25-year-old Healy didn’t have a full-time job. Now he does. Seattle used Danny Valencia at first base last season, so Healy looks to be a step up. Last year he hit .271/.302/.451 with 25…
