Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 2/12): Trade Deadline Mania

Man, I love the NBA trade deadline from a fantasy basketball standpoint. Every trade creates value, or at least, adjusts the value for a player or two. As the dust settles from Thursday's trade deadline, we see many new faces in new places including a former Boston Celtics star as a Los Angeles Laker and a whole slew of new faces surrounding LeBron James in Cleveland. This week also is a short week due to NBA all-star festivities kicking off on Friday. All teams either have one or two games this week so streaming will be…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 1/22)

So much for that smaller injury report we had last week. This week's report doubled in size, as half of the players in the NBA are nursing some sort of knee injury. It's ridiculous. The entire NBA is turning into 70-year-old men all of a sudden. However, the biggest injury of the bunch is a recurring quadriceps injury for -- yup, you guessed it -- Kawhi Leonard. I should just rename the injury report the Kawhi Leonard report. This is a good week for streaming, as only the Orlando Magic play two games and 13 NBA teams play…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 1/1)

It looks like we’re going to end 2017 on a positive note. Fantasy owners just got back Blake Griffin, Devin Booker, and Steph Curry, while the season debut of Isaiah Thomas is right around the corner. Thomas is the one I want to chat about here for a second. His return is both exciting and intriguing. There's plenty of excitement from his fantasy owners that drafted him back in the fall and have held onto him all this time. I'm not included in that, but I'm sure I'd be pretty darn excited to get a player of his magnitude…

Fantasy Basketball Fast Break (Week of 11/13)

Lonzo Ball isn't worth the headache this season Let me hit you with a very interesting factoid right out of the gate. We’re now 10-13 games into the season, and the Cleveland Cavaliers would be a lottery team. You heard me. Cleveland is toiling at 5-7, which is tied for the 6th worst record in the NBA with five other teams, including the Brooklyn Nets. Outside of LeBron James and Kevin Love, no player is playing well enough in fantasy to be worth rostering right now. Not Jae Crowder, or Dwyane Wade, or J.R Smith. In fact,…

NBA Impact Rookie Report

Now that our fantasy sleepers series has wrapped up, we move on to this season's impact rookies. After a loaded 2017 NBA Draft, the outlook is promising on the fantasy front. Some of the best talents in the draft may take a few years to become valuable contributors, but several should still make an impact from this season's opening tip. It should be no surprise that three of our choices were lottery picks this year and players who will receive impact roles immediately. Lonzo Ball, Los Angeles Lakers No rookie from the 2017…
