Steven Toroni’s Week 5 Rankings for Fantasy Football

Four weeks in the books and we move on to October. They say time flies when you’re having fun. Even though this first month of NFL football has come and gone faster than Tyreek Hill on a nine route, we are just getting started. So sit back, relax and delve into some Week 5 Rankings in Fantasy Football.

Every week we have an In or Out segment on the Hot Take Podcast. This is an opportunity for the listener to get a quick rundown of start/sit decisions for the upcoming week. A fun scenario I will be looking forward to this week is Aaron Jones and “blank”. More times than not I already know the answer for me is Aaron Jones. Jones is my RB17 this week and I may have him ranked too low. He faces a Lion’s defense in  Week 5 that is ranked dead last in rushing defense

Fantasy Friendly Week 5 Matchups

There are a few matchups I want to exploit in Fantasy Football this week and that should be reflected in my rankings.

The Falcons and Steelers game will be full of passing. Antonio Brown and Juju Smith-Schuster are my No. 1 and 2 wide receivers in Week 5 as they will face a Falcons team decimated by injuries. Ben Roethlisberger is my de facto QB1.

Fantrax Football CommissionerKeenan Allen is going to have his “boom” game that Fantasy owners have been clamoring for all season. The All-Pro receiver had nine receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 last season against the Raiders. Allen finds himself in a favorable matchup in Week 5. Allen is my WR3 on the week but is outdone by Melvin Gordon who is my RB1 in Week 5. Philip Rivers is my QB1 in what looks to be a high scoring game.

Redskins should be on everyone’s radar for a Monday Night showdown against the Saints. I have Jamison Crowder and Paull Richardson ranked higher than the consensus this week. Adrian Peterson is an RB2 in a revenge game against his former squad, and Jordan Reed is my TE1 in a week where Alex Smith may just have to throw more than 35 times.
