And that was October. Two months into the Premier League season and it’s clear to see that the gulf between the giants and minnows is perhaps the biggest it’s ever been. With teams like Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool all having historically good starts but still chasing Manchester City. It’s hard to see a scenario where the trends start reversing, but then, there was always Leicester. In fantasy terms, the big teams pulling away creates an interesting dynamic as it tends to mean more rotation. As English teams play more and more games each season, even the stars have to be rotated out of domestic league games. That means that players from some of the mid and lower table teams with less rotation have added safety and appeal for fantasy owners. The Premier League waiver wire this week will feature a bag load of these players.

Week 12 Premier League Waiver Wire
The FPL Draft waiver wire deals with players owned in 65% or less of Fantrax Leagues.
1. David Brooks – Midfielder – Bournemouth – 52% Owned
I’m sure you have already heard an array of pundits and writers wax lyrical about David Brooks, but let me throw my hat in the ring. Brooks has been sensational lately for the Toffees. He made a superb pass early on past Chris Smalling to put in Adam Smith. Later on, De Gea denied Brooks a sensational flicked effort at the near post. Brooks has the world at his feet right now and a matchup with Newcastle looks enticing. You may be running out of time to pick up Brooks off the Premier League waiver wire.
2. Etienne Capoue – Midfielder – Watford – 64% Owned
The black and white of Newcastle was appropriate, as they robbed Watford on Saturday. The Hornets won’t be too disquieted as they settle into mid-table slumber. Capoue has been vital for Watford this season; the only question is can he keep it up? He’s added some grit to his game under Garcia and is tackling more, covering more distance and recycling the ball at a higher rate. These aren’t necessarily fantasy relevant attributes, but more touches generally correlate with more points. Capoue’s consistency right now makes him a safe Premier League waiver wire pick up.
3. Seamus Coleman – Defender – Everton – 64% Owned
The fact that Seamus Coleman is eligible for this list would have sounded absurd in any other season. The general mantra with Coleman has been ‘if he’s healthy, he’s in your lineup.’ The Irishman has been a cheat code for fantasy football for the last few seasons between injury stints. This season has been disappointing so far, but now he’s back on the map after scoring an excellent long-range effort out of nothing. Perhaps this will kickstart Coleman into getting forward again and providing more of his trademark assist numbers. If you are lucky enough that Coleman is available in your league than pick him up immediately from the Premier League waiver wire.
4. Demairi Gray – Midfielder – Leicester – 41% Owned
Demairi Gray rewarded Puel for starting him on Saturday as he scored a beautiful goal to give the Foxes an emotional win. Gray plays in an advanced position and looks to be getting up to Premier League speed of late. Vardy’s not getting any younger, and Gray does look to be on the upswing. The question for Gray will be whether he gets to start for Leicester. Puel has no reason to bench him right now, and Leicester couldn’t choose a better run of fixtures coming up. Gray is a high ceiling low floor option to pick up from the Premier League waiver wire this week.
5. Grady Diangana – Midfielder – West Ham – 5% Owned
Last week I gave you a deep dive in Chris Lowe at 11% owned, but I knew I could go Lowe-er (see what I did there). Grady is a product of West Ham’s academy and the fans having nothing but praise for him, even going as far as calling him ‘the next Lanzini.’ Diangana has made three straight starts for West Ham and his minutes have increased every time. If that trend continues this week against Huddersfield than Diangana will be an intriguing fantasy option. Grady Diangana makes for a nice speculative add in leagues where there isn’t much available on the Premier League waiver wire.
