Nate and Steve Gardner hold down the fort while Van is away and Ron pops in and out due to an alien invasion! Actually, it was just some inclement weather that cost Ron to miss a segment, but otherwise, everything went smoothly as USA Today’s Steve Gardner joined the show to discuss the 2020 value of Chris Sale and Fernando Tatis, Jr. They also weight the 2019 value of recent call-ups Jake Fraley and AJ Puk, go over some bullpens, and discuss the week’s biggest waiver wire adds.
“The Braves are smart!” said the boys of the Nasty Cast. “What a great way to bolster a bullpen!” they claimed. Then this past week happened. So Nate, Ron, and Van decide to revisit the Atlanta bullpen and discuss what is going on and how it should shake out in the coming weeks. They also discuss some nice names being added on the waiver wire this week including Aristides Aquino, JD Davis, Ian Happ, and more!
The nastiest boys around have a lot to talk about on today’s show, and boy do they deliver. Well, I guess they do anyway. Nate, Ron, and Van talk about the value of guys like Isan Diaz, Dustin May, and Trent Grisham, and they also go over all of the “A” named players available on the waiver wire before finishing off with a slew of bullpens and their confidence in who is manning them.
Gene McCaffrey of The Athletic was kind (or foolish) enough to join the boys of the Nasty Cast on this very special trade deadline recap show! Ron, Nate, Van, and Gene discuss a bunch of the deals from the day touching on the Trevor Bauer trade, Zack Greinke’s last minute blockbuster, and everything in between! Stay tuned to hear who they think is closing in Atlanta and also to hear Ron rage about the Rays!
200 episodes in the books! Nate, Van, and Ron bask in the glory of merely existing for a long time by announcing a special giveaway for the show. They also take time to actually talk baseball (in between drinking) and discuss Tyler O’Neill, Homer Bailey, and next year’s value of Tyler Glasnow and Luis Severino!
It’s All-Star Break week here and the boys of the Nasty Cast are taking it easy! Well, kind of. They still show up to go over a little bit of what’s going on in MLB as they talk some waiver wire adds, and debate the merits of Danny Salazar in 2019.
The Nasty Cast boys have a lot to talk about on today’s show as they discuss call-ups of Brendan McKay, Dylan Cease, and Jose Urquidy! They also go over Nate Eovaldi as a closer, German Marquez’s struggles at home, and talk about Fantrax’s most added players! Join Nate, Ron, and Van for all the best the Nasty Cast has to offer!
On our newest edition of the show, Nate, Ron, and Van talk Frankie Montas and the dastardly pharmaceutical company who put PEDs in his coffee. They also go over some prospect call-ups with Adbert Alzolay, Zac Gallen, Bobby Bradley, and more getting the call, and finish out the show with a round of Legit or Quit!
It’s a full house on the newest edition of the Nasty Cast, as Ron returns to join Nate and Van and the boys discuss all sorts of baseball news including Max Scherzer’s broken nose and the Nationals’ seeming inability to teach bunting, Thor on the IL, Edwin Encarnacion’s playing time, and some bullpen stashes!
Chris Mitchell (@CJMitch73) of Fantrax joins a Ronless episode of the Nasty Cast as the boys talk values of Dallas Keuchel, Craig Kimbrel, and Yordan Alvarez. They also talk Jose Ramirez’ season and decide whether to add waiver names like Framber Valdez, Peter Lamber, Jason Vargas, and more!
