Top 100 Fantasy Hockey Forward Rankings

It’s only been two weeks since the NHL All-Star game, and our forward rankings have already had some drastic changes. The break for some has resulted in an increase in their production. Injuries and slumps have others on a downward trend. Then there are the new comers who have made their debuts on the leader board. Let’s take a look at what has caused the change in our fantasy hockey forward rankings.

Key Risers

Alex Ovechkin is making history, and shot back into our top ten in forward rankings. The Great Eight has three hat-tricks in his past ten games played, and is set to crack 700 goals any moment now.

Artemi Panarin isn’t the only superstar on Broadway. Mika Zibanajad has four goals and four assists over the past two weeks, helping the Rangers make a wild card push. While we’re talking Rangers, Chris Kreider has been dominate as of late. Kreider has collected nine points in his past ten games played, finding the back of the net six times in that span. The New York Rangers superstars are climbing up the forward rankings as of late.

Super sophomore, Brady Tkachuk, makes his way up the forward rankings as well. Tkachuk shoots at an incredible rate, averaging about five shots per game over the past two weeks. Over the past two weeks, Tkachuk registered 36 shots on net while collecting four points. Playing in all situations, Tkachuk is contributing to his owners in points. Even if he’s not filling the net every game, he is still contributing with shots on goal and hits.

Free Fallers

The Florida Panthers have gone 1-4 in their past five games. Evgenii Dadonov only contributing one point on nine shots in that span could be part of the reason the Panthers are on a slight skid. Fellow teammate, Mike Hoffman separates himself in our forward rankings from Dadonov, while Dadonov looks to get back on track.

Anthony Duclair has exceeded expectations this year earning an All-Star appearance. However, Duclair hasn’t performed over the past two weeks, and in fact has contributed little over the past month. Duclair has only registered one assist over two weeks, and two points in the past month. Duclair has made his trade stock less valuable in the NHL market, and in our forward rankings.

The same could be said about Arizona Coyotes forward, Clyaton Keller. Keller has contributed just as much as Duclair has over the past month and has suffered the same demotion in our forward rankings.

Newbies

Players such as Anthony Cirelli and Kailer Yamamoto have made their debuts in the forward rankings this week. In the past two weeks, each player has made an impact in their lineups, contributing to the Lightening and Oilers success recently.

Brendan Gallagher returns from a head injury, and has been hot since, placing him back in our forward rankings. Gallagher has recorded three goals and an assist playing on a line with Phillip Danault and Tomas Tatar. Expect Gallagher to keep rolling on the Canadiens top line.

Injuries

Key injuries have been tough on the San Jose Sharks and our forward rankings. Logan Couture and Tomas Hertl have each suffered injuries significant injuries. Couture slammed into the boards against the St Louis Blues about a month ago, and will be sidelined at least six weeks. Hertl however, will be sitting out the rest of the season with a torn ACL and MCL. Couture and Hertl fall out of our top 100 forward rankings, but anticipate Couture to return within the coming weeks.

Speaking of injuries, Oilers forward James Neal is also sidelined with a sprained ankle, with no timeline for return. The Oilers are said to want to be cautious with Neal. Besides, Neal’s inconsistent play as of late see’s him fall out of our forward rankings.
