FPL Draft Rankings for Gameweek 26: Pulling a Double

Another gameweek; another set of FPL draft rankings. As always, we’re doing things a little differently here at Fantrax. Those who were lamenting the lack of Leroy Sane at the start of the “double gameweek”: fear not. Fantrax players can enjoy the thrills of their double gameweek beginning with Manchester City’s midweek trip to Everton.

For that reason, this week’s rankings are dominated by Manchester City players (as per usual), interrupted by a sprinkling of Everton talent (not so usual).

So, sit back, devour these rankings and watch on as half of your mini-league rivals forget that Gameweek 26 has a very, very early start. Here are your rankings…

FantraxHQ will be featuring more FPL Draft content than ever before. Check out the full archive and let us know what you think.

GameWeek 26 FPL Draft Rankings

Goalkeepers

Two games means two cracks at a clean sheet for City stopper Ederson. The Brazilian tops the Goalkeeper rankings despite that fact that the Champions have looked far from sturdy at the back in recent weeks.

Jordan Pickford’s double gameweek is the only reason he slots into third place in the rankings. Anyone who plays for 180 minutes behind that Everton defense is bound to get the chance to make a hat full of saves. Bernd Leno and Alisson Becker of Arsenal and Liverpool respectively should expect quiet days at the office, despite shipping plenty of goals in recent weeks.

Differential pick: If Lukasz Fabianski helps West Ham to a possible shut out against Crystal Palace, he’ll be in for a big haul. Watch out for Matty Ryan too.

Defenders

A return from suspension in time for the double gameweek sees Lucas Digne take up his rightful spot at the top of the defensive rankings. Any positive score against City should set the Everton full-back up nicely for another nice return when they travel to Watford.

Matt Doherty and Callum Paterson rival Digne in the race to become the most valuable defender this season. Facing Newcastle and Southampton respectively, they could easily see attacking returns once again thanks to their advanced positions.

Meanwhile, aerial kings Shane Duffy and James Tarkowski go head-to-head this week in what may be a battle contested mainly off the ground. Expect big totals for both. Last week’s differential pick Jan Bednarek now becomes an essential pick as he faces Cardiff City.

Differential Pick: Those who followed my differential picks of Bednarek and Jeffrey Schlupp: you’re welcome. It’d be wrong if I didn’t at least enjoy a humble brag after the little fancied duo put up 45.25 points between them last week. I like the look of Laurent Koscielny this week, although Bednarek is still owned in only 8% of Fantrax leagues. Madness.

Kevin De Bruyne could top the midfielder rankings every week. The fact that he has the double shift this week makes it a no-brainer. Two games for this year’s third-highest scoring midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is almost as appetizing.

Whoever partners De Bruyne in that midfield (most likely Bernardo Silva in my opinion) is also in for a nice score. The likes of Andre Gomes and maybe even Bernard are also worth a start.

It’s very much the usual suspects taking charge at the top of the midfielder rankings. However, Joao Moutinho is well worth a look thanks to scores of 14, 31 and 21.5 in his last three outings.

Differential Pick: Last year’s FPL favorite Pascal Gross was back with a bang this week. No, he didn’t score. Or assist. However, thanks to an incredible 10 key passes the German produced a haul of 27.5 points. Incredible. His ownership of 85% suggests plenty have given up on him. If he’s available in your league, go get him.

Another no brainer at the top of the forwards rankings. To say Sergio Aguero’s hat-trick against Arsenal was from close range would be an understatement. However, three goals still translated to 35.5 Fantrax points in gameweek 25. With two games to play this week, I’d be amazed if the Argentinian fails to add to his tally in week 26.

Leroy Sane will be fresh and ready for two games in a week after a week off against Arsenal. Apart from that, the normal roll call of Mo Salah and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang will expect to register goals in their respective fixtures this week. Marcus Rashford’s hot form can also not be ignored.

The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice a low ranking for Eden Hazard. Let’s see if this flat track bully can prove me wrong and become a giant slayer this week.

Differential Pick: Dwight McNeil. The youngster has sneaked into a few lucky Fantrax draft squads this season and rightly so. McNeil is gloriously non-goal dependant, proved by his recent scoring run of 7 or more non-goal/assist points in each of his last six games. A goal and two assists has helped him along the way. Brighton away next. One to watch.

Hi Will, there’s no real indiciation, within the game itself, on how the double game weeks will be handled. For example, Man City players are only showing that they have one game. I tried reaching out to Fantrax Twitter and the support team but never got a reply. So, now that I read your rankings article, can I trust that anyone with a double gameweek will get the points from both matches? You can hit me up on Twitter if easier to reply. @TheyWereKones
