Hey, I was the one that ranked McNeil low. This list is for fantasy baseball and Jeff McNeil is not very special in fantasy. Yes, he is much better as a real life baseball player, but he is essentially only good for batting average in fantasy baseball.

He posted one season of double-digit home runs in his career and it was in 2019 with the juiced ball. All the players I ranked ahead of him have more power, more speed, more upside, or all three.

Additionally, he has lousy hard contact metrics and a low HR/FB%. 2019 was a clear fluke.

Again, he may be a great fielder, but this is a fantasy baseball list and fielding doesn’t count in fantasy.

  2. Jemo says

This has got to be a joke. Jeff McNeil is #17 and Taylor Starter has him at #40? He’s one of the better fielding second basemen and was the batting champion last year. on the other hand, Gleybor Torres is a below average fielder and an average batter. He should not be as high as he is.

I want to know what facts and statistics were used to make this list. it seems like pure opinion to me. I don’t see how their opinions would be any more accurate than mine.

  3. Shane says

Santiago Espinal? Literally an all-star 2B in 2022

    1. Eric Cross says

      He’s likely a part-time player in 2023.
