Fantasy Football Week 4 Start ‘Em and Sit “Em: The King’s Guide To Making Tough Calls

We are now making our first foray into the bye weeks, and while there are only two teams off, many Fantasy owners are facing some very challenging decisions. The significant injuries are mounting as we head into Fantasy Football Week 4. We help you make the tough decisions with our featured calls.

Fantasy Football Week 4 Start ‘Em

Running Backs

Kerryon Johnson vs. KC: We have yet to see his best game, and it’s going to come this week. If the Lions can slow the pace of the game as they would ideally like, it will be because they are tying their offense to Johnson. If the game becomes a high scoring affair, he could boost his numbers with receptions and possibly more than one rushing TD. The Chiefs lead the AFC in most Fantasy Points Per Game (PPR) allowed to opposing RBs.

Sony Michel vs. BUF: He has two games in the teens so far in terms of rushing yards. But he is the finisher for a very good offense and he is simply capable of better production than we have seen so far. Michel could score more than once this week.

Darrel Williams vs. DET: He was pushed into a larger role than expected last week and could be a significant part of a timeshare again. Detroit has allowed 1,591 rushing yards to RBs, the third-highest total in the NFC. He could be a more dangerous runner than LeSean McCoy outside of the opposing 20-yard line.

Wide Receivers

Diontae Johnson vs. CIN: This is a daring move that you should make if you are searching for a Fantasy Football Week 4 WR solution. Johnson caught his first pro TD pass, a 39-yarder, in Week 3. He can quickly emerge as the big-play threat opposite JuJu Smith-Schuster. The Bengals have allowed 2,745 receiving yards to WRs, third-most in the AFC.

Marvin Jones vs. KC: The Chiefs will be heavily focused on trying to contain Kenny Golladay, but Jones is the big play man and downfield playmaker for the Lions. With a good possibility of Lions-Chiefs becoming a shootout, Jones should get his share of chances to make some splash plays against the Kansas City secondary.

Robert Woods vs. TB: He only has 13 catches for 143 yards so far, but Woods has a great matchup to get out of an early-season funk this week. The Buccaneers have allowed the fourth-most receptions to WRs (220) among NFC teams.

Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford vs. KC: yes, we are liking the Lions this week. Go for Stafford if you have a QB issue that is squeezing you to dig for quality options. The Chiefs have allowed an NFL high 4,721 passing yards so far.

Philip Rivers vs, MIA: Annually and weekly underrated, he gets the cake matchup in Fantasy Football Week 4. He is the answer to any existing QB issues you may have.

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron vs. OAK: He is no longer a top TE play but he is still viable, especially against a team that allows the fourth-most FFPG to the position.

T.J. Hockenson vs. KC: The Chiefs have allowed the most TD passes to opposing TEs (10). Hockenson finds the end zone in Fantasy Football Week 4.

Fantasy Football Week 4 Sit ‘Em

Running Backs

Devonta Freeman vs. TEN: If you have another respectable alternative, you can bench Freeman. His best days may be behind him, and the Titans have allowed the least FFPG to opposing RBs so far this season.

David Montgomery vs. MIN: He is emerging as the lead RB for Chicago, but he is still not getting enough touches to please Fantasy players, as he continues to become the modern-day version of C.J. Spiller. Owners are just going to beg and plead for him to get more work. But in a Mitch Trubisky led offense with a challenging matchup, Montgomery does not have much upside in Fantasy Football Week 4.

Wide Receivers

Josh Gordon vs, BUF: The Bills secondary has been tough so far. They are first in receiving yards allowed (1,873) to wideouts and have yielded the third least FFPG to opposing WRs. Gordon still has a reputation as a big-play artist, but he has yet to display those traits this year and the matchup does not look promising in Fantasy Football Week 4.

Tyrell Williams vs. IND: Hopefully you have a better alternative and can use him over Williams. The former Charger has taken advantage of the opportunity to play a larger role with this new team, but this matchup may prove to be just too tough. Only the Bills have let up less receiving yards to WRs (1,993).

Quarterbacks

Baker Mayfield vs. BAL: His play has been erratic and uneven, and it is apparent Mayfield was overrated and overdrafted in many leagues. The Ravens have allowed the fourth least FFPG to the QB position. Mayfield is not getting enough time to throw and cannot get into a good rhythm with his pass-catchers right now.

Jameis Winston vs. LAR: He is coming off a big week, but smart Fantasy owners know they cannot trust Winston. Going against an intimidating Rams front that has helped an opportunistic secondary force 18 interceptions (third in the NFL), Winston will revert to his usual disappointing self in Fantasy Football Week 4.

Tight Ends

Jason Witten vs. NO: He has returned from the broadcast booth as a more productive Fantasy player, but the Saints have been fourth-best against TEs in FFPG so far, and Witten lacks any real upside. You will have to gamble on a short-yardage TD at best if you have to use Witten.

O.J. Howard vs. LAR: There were signs of life last week with a 66-yard outing, but until he puts together back-to-back quality outings, you can’t roll him out as a starter again. Hopefully, you have decent depth at the TE position and can afford to sit him.
