Fantasy EPL Gameweek 20 Waiver Wire and Trade Targets

Every Fantrax manager knows that Waiver Wire and Trade acquisitions can make or break your Fantasy EPL season.  This Gameweek 20 article is here to help managers pick up the best Premier League players possible from the waiver wire, as well as suggest players to potentially target for a trade with a fellow manager!

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire Targets that have 30% ownership or below on Fantrax.  These players will also have a favorable run of fixtures upcoming, so they could perform very well over the upcoming period!  Trade Targets will be players who look set to do well over the upcoming period, but their ownership statistics suggest they are probably taken in most draft leagues!

Essential reading before the Tuesday waiver requests process!

Gameweek 20 Waiver Wire Targets

Giovani Lo Celso

Position: Midfielder

Team: Tottenham

Ownership: 25%

Average Points per Match: 1.4

Next 5 Fixtures: nor (A), sou (A), LIV (H), wat (A), NOR (H)

Prospects: Lo Celso could get his chance this weekend with Son suspended and Sessegnon not making the impact needed. Lo Celso and Eriksen both came off the bench to help Spurs get a 2-1 win vs. Brighton. It would seem Lo Celso is the more likely candidate to start, and is available in many leagues. In Gameweek 20 vs. Norwich, he could be in line for a big score with some attacking returns. Over this hectic period in the EPL expect some rotation. I would use a mid-tier waiver claim on Lo Celso with the hopes he starts the next 2 fixtures while Mourinho looks to rotate.

Christian Atsu

Position: Midfielder

Team: Newcastle

Ownership: 8%

Average Points per Match: 4.8

Next 5 Fixtures: EVE (H), LEI (H), wol (A), CHE (H), eve (A)

Prospects: Newcastle were blown away by Manchester United, so you can expect there to be changes ahead of Gameweek 20. Atsu could see himself back in the XI, and a home fixture vs. Everton isn’t a bad one to use the Newcastle winger in. With Saint-Maximin still out injured Atsu has a clearer path to playtime. He did well early in the season when brought into the XI, and Steve Bruce will be hoping for an impact from him. I would use a low-end waiver claim on Atsu, as there is a risk he may not start. Atsu can be considered a MID5 with upside when he is in the XI in favorable matchups.

Yves Bissouma

Position: Midfielder

Team: Brighton & Hove Albion

Ownership: 1%

Average Points per Match: 2.8

Next 5 Fixtures: BOU (H), CHE (H), eve (A), AVL (H), bou (A)

Prospects: Bissouma didn’t start in the loss to Tottenham, but after a hard-fought game, he could come into the XI for rotation purposes. The Brighton midfielder scores decently well when in the XI with a floor of 6-10 points. Being able to pick him up and place him in your XI will allow you to cover for one of your stars who is being rotated on the weekend. Bissouma fills up the stat sheet nicely and does like to shoot a bit, adding upside to his MID4 floor. While not the most exciting of waiver claims, Bissouma is the kind of player that can help you get the wins needed over the busiest time in the EPL. I would use a low-end waiver claim on the Brighton midfielder before Gameweek 20.
