🔥🔥🔥 Gameweek 17 Player Rankings: Hot List 🔥🔥🔥

These are Fantasy EPL Draft players that have risen in our rankings!  These are potential free agents on good form or established players that you should be looking to trade-in.  Keep an eye on these players, and bring them into your Fantrax squad if you can!

Martin Kelly

Position:  Defender

Team:  Crystal Palace

Ownership:  32%

Average Score Last 5 Games:  8.75 PPG

Next 5 Fixtures:  BHA (H), new (A), WHU (H), sou (A), nor (A)

What’s Changed?:  All aboard the Palace defensive train right now, and in particular Kelly who had an absolute barnstorming couple of weekends.  Three clean sheets on the bounce and bringing home a total of 43.75 points make Kelly a legitimate defender to stream into your side right now; and with only 32% ownership there is a very good chance Kelly is available.  If however Kelly isn’t free or you fancy a more established name then the likes of Tompkins (16%) or Cahill (7%) are genuinely good options and of course, the man everyone is talking about Schlupp who at the higher 64% ownership is unlikely to be free.  However, Kelly’s form is red hot and with Brighton, Newcastle, West Ham, Southampton, and Norwich all up next for Palace we highly recommend jumping onto one of their defenders.

Jonjo Shelvey

Position:  Midfielder

Team:  Newcastle

Ownership:  51%

Average Score Last 5 Games:  15 PPG

Next 5 Fixtures:  bur (A), CRY (H), mun (A), EVE (H), LEI (H)

What’s Changed?:  Isn’t everything Shelvey touches right now turning to gold!?  The Newcastle midfielder has had six sensational weeks; bringing home a whopping 90.5 points.  Shelvey’s success has been largely built around the four goals he has picked up, but when he isn’t banging them in, he is an effective ghost points scorer.  An absolute must-have right now chaps, Shelvey is seriously hot property.  Sign him up while you still can!  The Englishman is the marque attraction for our Gameweek 17 Player Rankings!

David McGoldrick

Position:  Forward

Team:  Sheffield United

Ownership:  21%

Average Score Last 5 Games:  10.5 PPG

Next 5 Fixtures: AVL (H), bha (A), WAT (H), mci (A), liv (A)

What’s Changed?:  The Sheffield United forward has started 11 of the 13 games he has been involved in this season, and since Gameweek 9, has been an integral cog in this impressive Sheffield United machine!  However, despite 11 appearances, McGoldrick has not yet scored this season, registering only one attacking return; an assist in Gameweek 12.  So how come McGoldrick is so hot right now?  Well, quite simply he is scoring pretty well in terms of ghost points, averaging a season PPG score of just under eight; which is certainly not bad if you are able to bring in McGoldrick as a third choice striker, particularly in large leagues!

Gameweek 17 Player Rankings: More Hot Players!

  • Ricardo Pereira (100%, Leicester) – An elite defender this season, consistently scores well
  • Matt Doherty (95%, Wolves) – Getting back to his best with nearly 50 points scored over the last three games!
  • Serge Aurier (90%, Spurs) – Jose seems to really like Aurier and has voiced his desire for Aurier to attack; which will be music to Fantrax owners ears as Spurs aren’t keeping cleanies
  • Reece James (61%, Chelsea) – Three starts in a row, and scoring very well.  Doesn’t need clean sheets!
  • Dan Burn (59%, Brighton) – The giant center back continues to perform well, despite Brighton’s tough fixtures
  • Federico Fernandez (14%, Newcastle) – The big center back is scoring well, and still pretty under the radar!

Fantasy EPL Midfielders

  • James Maddison (100%, Leicester) – Making this very good Leicester side tick
  • Dele Alli (99%, Tottenham) – He’s back in the side, scoring goals, and playing well!!
  • Jack Grealish (99%, Aston Villa) – Just a stunning player this season. A Top 20 player for sure!
  • James Ward-Prowse (97%, Southampton) – Putting together some great performances recently
  • Michail Antonio (65%, West Ham) – Returned to the side to great effect, but Pellegrini is going to manage his minutes
  • Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (59%, Southampton) – Putting in some really consistent performances recently
  • Moussa Sissoko (33%, Tottenham) – Looks favored under Mourinho, and is pitching in with goals too
  • Aaron Mooy (16%, Brighton) – Back in Potters good book, and gained an assist in GW15
  • Dennis Praet / Mario Vrancic (5% / 2%, Leicester / Norwich) – These two were surprise starters in GW16, and scored pretty well.  Worth a punt!

Fantasy EPL Forwards

  • Son Heung-Min (100%, Tottenham) – The South Korean is on incredible form, and proving he’s on of the best players in the league
  • Jamie Vardy (100%, Leicester) – 11 goals in 8 games?!  Doesn’t matter that he’s goal dependent.  Complete legend this season!
  • Marcus Rashford (100%, Manchester United) – In the form of his life.  Continues to score goals
  • Sadio Mane (100%, Liverpool) – Outshining the more sought after Salah at the moment, he’s the Liverpool player to won
  • Raul Jimenez (100%, Wolves) – The Mexican continues to perform very well
  • Danny Ings (94%, Southampton) – Five goals in five games, hopefully, he can stay injury-free
  • Adama Traore (84%, Wolves) – A favorite of the chaps on the @fplkickaround; Traore has been a revelation this season!
  • Kelechi Iheanacho (24%, Leicester) – Started in Gameweek 16, and gained a goal and an assist.  He’s making a mark in this great Leicester side
  • Ismaila Sarr (18%, Watford) – Now in the Watford side, and playing pretty well. A good under the radar option.  Ghost points galore!
  • Andy Carroll (5%, Newcastle) – With back-to-back assists, Carroll is making a mark in an in-form Newcastle side!

❄️❄️❄️ Gameweek 17 Player Rankings: Cold List ❄️❄️❄️

These are Fantasy EPL players that have fallen in our rankings.  This may be due to poor form, they have been dropped from the best 11, they have suffered an injury, or received a suspension.  It’s time to consider dropping these players from your squads!

Fikayo Tomori

Position:  Defender

Team:  Chelsea

Ownership:  57%

Average Score Last 5 Games:  4.6 PPG

Next 5 Fixtures:  BOU (H), tot (A), SOU (H), ars (A), bha (A)

What’s Changed?:  It was great whilst it lasted for Tomori owners.  But Tomori has now missed the last two games, not to mention the hip injury that will rule him out of Gameweek 17.  With Rudiger coming back, the future doesn’t look great.  Chelsea has lots of options in defense, and they haven’t been keeping clean sheets anyway.

Recommendation:  We’d recommend dropping Tomori immediately.  There will be plenty of good defenders available to you on waivers.  With the hectic festive period coming up, and Rudiger nearly back to full fitness, the Fantas EPL prospects don’t look good for Tomori!

Giovani Lo Celso

Position:  Midfielder

Team:  Spurs

Ownership:  34%

Average Score Last 5 Games:  1.6 PPG

Next 5 Fixtures:  wol (A), CHE (H), BHA (H), nor (A), sou (A)

What’s Changed?:  We’ve hardly seen anything of Lo Celso this season and that doesn’t look likely to change any time soon, despite starting in Gameweek 14.  It is still a bit of a surprise that there is 34% ownership for Lo Celso, perhaps these are inactive leagues?  Maybe Fantrax managers are still holding out for some rotation over Christmas?  Either way, from the brief performances we’ve seen; it’s not worth the effort Chaps.  The Argentine did get a couple of starts towards the end of Pochetino’s term, but he isn’t favored under Mourinho!

RecommendationDrop Lo Celso and get yourself a player that actually plays.  It doesn’t look like things are going to be happening for the undoubtedly talented midfielder at the moment.

Joelinton

Position:  Forward

Team:  Newcastle

Ownership:  63%

Average Score Last 5 Games:  7.6 PPG

Next 5 Fixtures:  bur (A), CRY (H), mun (A), EVE (H), LEI (H)

What’s Changed?:  With the rise in form of Carroll, Joelinton looks set to play second fiddle for a little while.  That being said, Carroll is massively injury-prone, so we wouldn’t want you to get too despondent as Joelinton will still get opportunities.  However, whilst Carroll is fit, he will be Steve Bruce’s main man, as his form is and impact as a talisman cannot be denied.  Joelinton has only one goal from 15 starts in comparison to Carrolls two assists in nine appearances from the bench.  The Brazilian is also pretty dependent on attacking returns!

Recommendation: We highly recommend holding onto Joelinton despite the likelihood of rotation, Carroll will not be able to sustain regular appearances given his injury record.  Be aware that you can’t rely on Joelinton to start every game in Fantasy EPL anymore!

Gameweek 17 Player Rankings: More Cold Players!

Fantasy EPL Defenders

  • Kyle Walker (92%, Manchester City) – How is Walker 92% owned?! Awful
  • Nathan Ake (82%, Bournemouth) – Set for a spell on the sidelines, and doesn’t score that well on Togga scoring anyway
  • Benjamin Mendy (81%, Manchester City) – The Frenchman has only started 2 of the last 6 games.  We’d drop him
  • Emerson (70%, Chelsea) – Struggling for game-time at the moment.  Azpi looks to have moved over to left-back, with James at right back
  • Kieran Tierney (57%, Arsenal) – Not making much of an impact, and Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures are tough.  Went off injured in GW16 too
  • Victor Lindelof (50%, Manchester United) – Never scores well on Togga scoring

Fantasy EPL Midfielders

  • Felipe Anderson (99%, West Ham) – Scores incredibly well on Fantrax, in Gameweek 15 Anderson racked up a huge score of 18.5 points for doing literally nothing on the pitch.  It is his form on the pitch which concerns us, and Anderson is flirting with getting dropped
  • Christian Eriksen (94%, Tottenham) – Looks to be leaving in January.  Not getting a look in
  • Ryan Fraser (91%, Bournemouth) – What a nightmare he’s been this season.  Scoring nowhere near last season!
  • Andros Townsend (74%, Crystal Palace) – On poor form, although The Eagles have a great fixture schedule coming up!
  • Oliver Norwood (73%, Sheffield United) – Scoring poorly at the moment, and subbed off the last two games…
  • Manuel Lanzini (61%, West Ham) – Injured for two months, but to be honest, his stock had fallen away with West Ham’s form

Fantasy EPL Forwards

  • Sebastian Haller (99%, West Ham) – Not playing well at the moment, regressed from his early season consistent scoring. Benched for GW14 and GW16
  • Callum Wilson (96%) – Scoring very poorly, this Chap is frozen solid
  • Ayoze Perez (94%, Leicester) – Reducing impact, and game-time.  Benched for Gameweek 15
  • Callum Hudson-Odoi (76%, Chelsea) – Not getting a look in at the moment.  Droppable unless you can afford to keep him on the bench and plug him in when he starts!
  • Wesley (68%, Aston Villa) – He plays every game, but is pretty goal dependent.  Try and trade him out if you can
  • Jordan Ayew (55%, Crystal Palace) – Starting every game, but scores poorly
  • Andriy Yarmolenko (52%, West Ham) – The Ukrainian doesn’t look like he cares at the moment – he’ll be benched now that Antonio is back on the scene!
