Fantasy EPL Gameweek 15: Chaps Choices Sleepers XI

Our Gameweek 15 Chaps Choices article provides Fantrax managers with a Fantasy EPL Sleepers XI.  Our starting eleven of Premier League differential picks will help you find a golden ticket to a big score this weekend!  These hints and tips will give you a better chance of picking up an all-important victory, as one of our Fantasy EPL sleeper picks could easily make the difference in a Head-to-Head game!

We’ll be focusing on players that will bring us not only attacking returns or clean sheets, but also those players that score “ghost points” on the sophisticated and statistics based Togga scoring model!

*For this article, we use the ownership statistics from Fantrax.  Our only rule is that each player we highlight is required to have ownership of 60% or below at the time of writing.  This way there’s a good chance these players will be free agents in your Fantrax Draft League!

Fantasy EPL Gameweek 15 Sleepers XI

**60% ownership or below**

GK: Mat Ryan

Team:  Brighton

Opponent:  Arsenal (Away)

Ownership:  58%

Prospects:  Mat Ryan is firmly cementing his place as a set and forget goalkeeper this season, and we’re delighted his ownership has fallen below our 60% ownership threshold.  Ryan has made the second-most saves in the Premier League this season, with 56 saves.  The Aussie has also managed six points or more in his last nine games, which included matches against Liverpool, Leicester, Tottenham, and Chelsea.  This Gameweek, Brighton face a trip to Arsenal.  Brighton is likely to concede one or two goals, but Ryan will make anywhere between three and eight saves.  The Seagulls also have a nice run of fixtures coming up, so clean sheets may be back on the cards in the coming weeks!

GW15 Points Scored:  6

DEF: George Baldock

Team:  Sheffield United

Opponent:  Newcastle (Home)

Ownership:  55%

Prospects:  We’re honestly not sure how any of the Sheffield United defenders are below our 60% ownership threshold, but we’re not complaining.  If you’re after a guaranteed rotation-free signing, then Baldock is your man.  The right wing-back will not be rested for the Gameweek 15 visit of Newcastle, and The Blades have a really good chance of a clean sheet.  Baldock has some really great fixtures coming up, so make a move for him if you can!

GW15 Points Scored:  8.5

DEF: Kurt Zouma

Team:  Chelsea

Opponent:  Aston Villa (Home)

Ownership:  54%

Prospects:  Chelsea really isn’t the best at the back this season, but Zouma usually scores well even without clean sheets.  The Frenchman can usually be trusted to bring home a decent score!  The Blues face Aston Villa at home in Gameweek 15, and despite The Villains performing well recently, we’re backing Chelsea to pick up a convincing win!  Lampard will be desperate to correct Saturday’s loss to West Ham.

GW15 Points Scored:  5.5

DEF: Jeffrey Schlupp

Team:  Crystal Palace

Opponent:  Bournemouth (Home)

Ownership:  35%

Prospects:  With mid-week rotation likely ahead of Gameweek 15, Schlupp is a must-have gamble for our Sleepers XI!  The defender is usually fielded in midfield for Crystal Palace, and he managed to score from the bench at the weekend.  Schlupp is likely to earn a start this weekend and has opportunities for attacking returns as well as a clean sheet.  The Eagles face an inconsistent Bournemouth side this Gameweek.  Teammate Tomkins (8% ownership) is worth a look if you don’t fancy a punt on Schlupp.  The big center back scored 16.25 points in Gameweek 14.

GW15 Points Scored:  19.5

DEF: Angelino

Team:  Manchester City

Opponent:  Burnley (Away)

Ownership:  22%

Prospects:  Another player who looks set to benefit from some mid-week rotation is Angelino.  The Manchester City left-back has performed pretty well when called upon so far this season, so Pep will have no issues with starting him against Burnley.  Mendy is likely to be left out for this one; we would highly recommend a hand-cuff of him and Angelino if you already own the Frenchman.

GW15 Points Scored:  7.25

MID: Harry Wilson

Team:  Bournemouth

Opponent:  Crystal Palace (Away)

Ownership:  54%

Prospects:  Harry Wilson bagged two goals from the bench in Gameweek 14, so we fully expect him to start against Crystal Palace.  The young winger is pretty goal dependent, but he now has six goals for the season!  If Wilson starts, he’s usually worth a punt!  The negative point about him is that he’s not guaranteed to start, and will usually only manage 60/70 minutes when he does start.  Certainly worth a look for our Gameweek 15 Sleepers XI though.  Shelvey (28% ownership) is also worth a mention, as he’s established himself in the Newcastle side, and bagged a goal in Gameweek 14.

GW15 Points Scored:  6

MID: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Team:  Southampton

Opponent:  Norwich City (Home)

Ownership:  41%

Prospects:  We backed Hojbjerg in Gameweek 14, and he brought home an 18 point haul!  We’re backing him again for the mid-week games, as our reliable and consistent midfielder.  Every Fantrax squad needs a couple of these players, and Hojbjerg is our choice for this week.  The Danish international faces a match-up against Norwich City, which should offer him plenty of opportunities for defensive points.  And obviously any team playing against Norwich fancies themselves for a couple of goals!  Speaking of goals, Southampton man Moussa Djenepo (32% ownership) is a great alternative here.  The tricky winger scored last game, and scores incredibly well on Togga scoring!

GW15 Points Scored:  19

MID: Onel Hernandez

Team:  Norwich City

Opponent:  Southampton (Away)

Ownership:  27%

Prospects:  Hernandez has been seriously impressive since returning to the Norwich side after injury.  The Cuban-born German is pretty fixture proof, and we’re shocked to see his ownership remain so low.  We would highly recommend trying to trade Hernandez into your side, let alone sign him from the waiver wire!  Norwich face Southampton in Gameweek 15, which should be an entertaining match with plenty of points potential for the tricky winger!  Teammate McLean (17% ownership) offers a great alternative.  The Scottish international is being fielded further forward at the moment and has gained two double-digit returns in a row.

GW15 Points Scored:  5

MID: Robert Snodgrass

Team:  West Ham

Opponent:  Wolves (Away)

Ownership:  53%

Prospects:  The veteran Scotsman continues to perform well, and continues to start for West Ham.  Snodgrass is trusted by Pellegrini at the moment, and he’s seemingly immune to the rotations between the likes of Anderson, Yarmolenko, and Fornals.  This is great news for Fantrax managers playing with Togga scoring; Snodgrass is an absolute beast on this points system!  He’s gained four double-digit returns in his last five games, and he looks set to stay in the side.  If a fellow manager has lost trust in Snodgrass or West Ham, then we would highly recommend signing him!  The Scottish midfielder is the marque selection of our Gameweek 15 Sleepers XI.

If Snodgrass is taken in your Fantasy EPL Draft League, then take a look at Fornals (22% ownership).  The Spaniard featured in our Waiver Wire article for this week.

GW15 Points Scored:  4

FWD: Allan Saint-Maximin

Team:  Newcastle United

Opponent:  Sheffield United (Away)

Ownership:  54%

Prospects:  We’ve said it plenty of times so far this season already, but Saint-Maximin is a really talented footballer!  The Frenchman is a consistent Fantrax Togga scoring forward, mainly due to the number of successful dribbles he accumulates each game!  Saint-Maximin gained a solid eight points in Gameweek 14 against Manchester City.  This guy is fixture-proof and should score well against Sheffield United on Thursday night.  Take a look at Sarr (9% ownership) if Saint-Maximin is taken in your league.  Sarr has a chance of a fresh start under a new manager and scored during Watford’s loss to Southampton last time around.

GW15 Points Scored:  11

FWD: David McGoldrick

Team:  Sheffield United

Opponent:  Newcastle (Home)

Ownership:  23%

Prospects:  We’ve backed McGoldrick quite a lot recently, as he’s turned into a genuine asset for Fantrax managers.  The veteran Irishman scores good ghost points, and will always have a chance of gaining attacking returns for this good Sheffield United side.  McGoldrick should start against Newcastle on Thursday night, as he’s an important cog for Wilder’s team.  If you fancy a bit of a punt, then teammate Mousset (43% ownership) is also a good option.  The young forward may not start in Gameweek 15 though, despite his great Fantasy EPL form of late.

GW15 Points Scored:  2
