Fantasy Basketball Schedule Preview: December 19-25

Welcome to week 10 of the Fantasy Basketball season. This week is highlighted by the Christmas Day games which make for an exciting, festive, but tricky competitive week. Christmas Eve (Saturday) has zero games, followed by the five specialty games on Christmas day (Sunday) to end the week. If you don’t have players suiting up for Christmas day, your week will essentially end on Friday. If your team supports it, the goal should be to get as many games in as possible until Saturday and then stream for the Christmas day Games.
Let’s take a look at the Christmas Day schedule and then get into this week’s schedule and streaming options.

Streaming Options: Optimize your Streaming:

With zero games on Saturday and five ‘marquee’ games on Sunday, stacking games during the early part of the week will be crucial. The teams below will help you stack games Monday-Friday. Depending on your league the players available will vary, but the players below should be available in most 12- or 14-team formats.

UTAH JAZZ (MON/TUES/THURS)

  • Walker Kessler (Center): Kessler is carving out a nice role in Utah and is a double-double threat each game. Expect Kessler to produce elite FG%, points, rebounds, and elite blocks. His role is increasing and if the Jazz fall off, expect them to let the big man loose. Pick him up to stream and to keep on the roster.
  • Malik Beasley (SG): Beasley has settled into a lethal three and points streamer. Collin Sexton is questionable for Monday, which could sap Beasley’s value, but he still makes a strong streamer.
  • Jared Vanderbilt (PF/C): Vando is a rebounds and steals specialist from the PF/C positions, but also can provide a few points and assists. Vanderbilt is a top 100 player and shouldn’t be on your waiver wire, but if he is, stream him this week and add him to your roster.

WASHINGTON WIZARDS (TUES/THURS/FRI)

  • Daniel Gafford (Center): If Porzingis sits, Gafford is the stream. Blocks, rebounds, and elite FG%. Otherwise, there is a better streaming option.
  • Will Barton (SG/SF): Barton made for an exciting streamer while Bradley Beal was out. Points, threes with upside in rebounds, and assists. Beal returned Sunday but Barton could still be a useful streamer this week.
  • Deni Avdija (SF/PF): With a great schedule this week, Deni is a solid streamer even with Beal. He can produce in points, rebounds, and assists. His all-around game makes for a great stream this week.

PHOENIX SUNS (MON/TUES/FRI/SUN)

    • Josh Okogie (SG/SF): Okogie’s role is growing in Phoenix, and he has not disappointed. While nothing is too exciting about his stat line, Okogie can produce in points, rebounds, and assists, with a few defensive stats. Since he plays Monday and Tuesday, Okogie is a useful early-week stream.
