Fantasy Baseball Weekend Pitching Streamers: 6/3-6/5

Need some extra pitching this weekend? Look no further than the weekend pitching streamers! Each weekend there are lower-rostered pitchers who could help your squad finish the week strong. I will give you players that are rostered in less than 50% of CBS leagues that have advantageous matchups. Not all of these guys are desirable options though, so I will also include a streamer confidence rating between 1-10. Good luck, and happy weekend streaming!

Top Weekend Pitching Streamers

Friday:

Dane Dunning vs. Seattle Mariners (28% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 5

Dunning is going to end up in this article more often than not. This week he gets the Mariners, who are about average against RHP away from Seattle. One aspect that makes Dunning a solid streaming option is that he is a good bet to give you between 5-7 innings per start. The question is, how many hitters will he allow to reach base? Seattle ranks top 10 in OBP, so there is some risk there, but Dunning will also strike out a good amount of those hitters with his 23.5% K rate. He only lasted 4 innings against the Mariners in their first matchup early in the season, but Dunning has been serviceable enough to warrant another look this weekend

Brady Singer vs. Houston Astros (48% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 4

The Astros are not a team you would normally stream against, but Singer has impressed me thus far. He has pitched into the 6th inning in all 3 of his starts, allowing 3 ER with 20 strikeouts. Obviously, the Astros will be the best lineup he has faced yet, but pitching at home in Kauffman Stadium will at least ease the burden a little. Singer doesn’t like to nibble, as evident by his 57.2 zone percentage and 4% BB%. He is also striking out hitters more than ever, sitting in the 73rd percentile in strikeout percentage at 26.3%. All that said, he is up against a Houston lineup that ranks highly offensively. They rank 4th in home runs but only 20th in runs scored, so if Kauffman can help Singer out and hold some of those dingers, I think he gives us a solid outing.

Saturday:

Spencer Strider @ Colorado Rockies (48% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 4

Normally you don’t stream at Coors Field, but Strider is just too enticing to stay away from. His first start earlier in the week was uninspiring, but it was his first career start. With an elite strikeout rate of 38.6%, albeit mostly in relief, Strider is a huge boom or bust streaming option this weekend. In fact, he is my swing for the fences streamer of the weekend because he is pitching in Colorado but offers that high strikeout potential. Like Pepiot last week, this is a high-risk/high-reward option for Saturday, but I think Strider is the better overall pitcher who happens to be pitching in the least ideal park.

Roansy Contreras vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (43% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 6

This could be the last week Contreras qualifies for this article. His roster rate has jumped 8% since he was a weekend streamer last weekend. Although his performance was pretty “meh” against the Padres on Sunday, I still like Contreras, especially in a better matchup. He ranks in the 93rd percentile for chase rate and the Diamondbacks strike out 25% of the time against RHP, 3rd worst in the league. I think Contreras builds off of his first start and puts together a good effort to help your team.

Sunday:

Jake Junis @ Miami Marlins (35% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 3

Streamers for Sunday were not very intriguing to be honest. Junis is the best of the bunch, mostly because of the matchup. Miami is a middling offensive team and Junis has been able to limit the damage so far. He’s only allowed more than 2 ER once this season while limiting walks with a 4.9% BB%. While he has limited damage thus far, he has not been able to strike out hitters at a high rate. If you need some help on Sunday, Junis is your best streaming option, but I’m not very hopeful of anything overly exciting from him.

Rich Hill @ Oakland A’s (15% Rostered)

Confidence Rating: 2

Like I said, there weren’t many options for Sunday, which is why Rich Hill is listed here. This is a matchup play only, with the chance for a win and decent ratios against a bad A’s team. Pitching in Oakland is also a plus, but other than that there isn’t much reason to start Hill. The A’s don’t fare well against LHP, only hitting .225 as a team with a .129 ISO. It’s a risky gamble, but if you need a win, Rich Hill should provide a good shot at pitching well enough to earn that decision.
