Gameweek 6 Waiver Wire Targets

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Gameweek 6 Waiver Wire Targets that have 40% ownership or below on Fantrax.  These players will also have a favorable run of fixtures upcoming, so they could perform very well over the upcoming period!

Jan Bednarek

Position: Defender

Team: Southampton

Ownership: 5%

Next Fixture: Wolves(Home)

Prospects: Bednarek has always been a decent scorer in Fantrax, definitely worth rostering for better runs. He has surely done enough, keeping a clean sheet against last year’s champions, to earn his spot back in the heart of the Saints’ defense. He got his massive 19.25 score by filling out the stat sheet, so it is highly likely that he can keep bringing home the bacon.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 3-8% of my remaining FAB on Bednarek.

Douglas Luiz

Position: Midfielder

Team: Aston Villa

Ownership: 4%

Next Fixture: Manchester United (Away)

Prospects: The Brazilian defensive midfielder has always had a decent floor of 4-7, but not something to roster him for. The reason he might be worth a speculative add is because of his monster score of 22.5 in GW5 which is mostly based on him having a monopoly on set pieces. With Buendia most likely coming back in, this could all change, but a speculative start in the MID4-5 position may be low-risk enough to work out fine even if he loses set-piece duty.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or about 0-5% of my remaining FAB on Luiz.

Joelinton

Position: Forward

Team: Newcastle

Ownership: 10%

Next Fixture: Watford (Away)

Prospects: Do not get me wrong, Joelinton is all kinds of bad. Don’t even bother looking for highlights from GW5, because all you will feel is a need to move closer to St. James’s Park to collect match balls that he hit out of the stadium to start a legitimate business selling them. It is that many. That said, the misfiring Brazilian has a surprisingly decent floor for Fantrax points and will luck into an assist once in a while (remember him completing a 3-yard pass to ASM who then dribbles past the whole defense and scores a wondergoal from the edge of the box counts as a fantasy assist as well). Next week Newcastle faces Watford which just feels like a bottom-of-the-table clash that is going to be all about Sarr vs ASM. You can just sit back, relax and enjoy ASM’s brilliance while “Joe Linton” gets you some garbage points if you are short on forwards. They all count, don’t they?

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or about 0-5% of my remaining FAB on Joelinton.
