Gameweek 28 Waiver Wire Targets

Here we outline Fantasy EPL Gameweek 28 Waiver Wire Targets that are 40% rostered or below on Fantrax.  These players will also have a favorable run of fixtures upcoming, so they could perform very well over the upcoming period!

The following teams have double gameweeks in GW28:

Wolves: CRY, WAT

Leeds: lei, AVL

Watford: ARS, wol

Newcastle: BHA, sou

Aston Villa: SOU, lee

Southampton: avl, NEW

Norwich: BRF, CHE (TBC)

Chelsea: bur, nor (TBC)

Dan Burn

Position: Defender

Team: Newcastle

Rostered: 27%

Next Fixture: Brighton (Home), Southampton (Away)

Prospects: We did not think we could possibly like Big Dan Burn more, but after his switch to his hometown club, that is exactly what happened. The towering defender has been integral to Newcastle’s rise from the relegation places, and a double in GW28, followed by a double in GW29 should be enough reason to spend big on him when you set your waivers. He has been playing well and scoring well too, so will most likely become a season hold if you can get him.

Verdict: I would use any waiver claim or about 10% of my remaining FAB on Burn.

Mohamed Elyounoussi

Position: Midfielder

Team: Southampton

Rostered: 37%

Next Fixture: Aston Villa (Away), Newcastle (Home)

Prospects: Elyounoussi has been starting in a revitalized Southampton team consistently in Redmond’s absence and even though the Englishman is back from injury, I still believe the Moroccan-born Norwegian has dibs on the starting spot. Southampton enters into a stretch of fixtures that makes their assets very hard to ignore especially since their form has been brilliant lately. Solid at the back, effective up front, the only way is up for Southampton and all their Fantrax assets.

VerdictElyounoussi should cost you 5-8% of your FAB.

Leon Bailey

Position: Forward

Team: Aston Villa

Ownership: 39%

Next Fixture: Brighton (Away)

Prospects:  The pool of usable starting FWDs is extremely shallow for our under 40% rostered rule, so I am sticking with Bailey after last week’s recommendation. Although they beat Brighton, Villa has been very disappointing lately.  Bailey has been getting back to match fitness with a few sub appearances and it is very likely that he will come into the starting XI soon. On his day, he is a FWD2 with limitless upside. Try and get him before he makes a case for a first-team spot for everyone to see.

Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or about 5% of my remaining FAB on Bailey.
