D/ST Streamers for Fantasy Football Week 6

If you read last week’s article, you probably had a pretty nice week. We had Philadelphia as our main pickup and they provided us with the game of the season. In fact, they scored upwards of 40 fantasy points in some leagues and even I couldn’t have anticipated a performance like that. We also got good performances from the Bills, Titans and Panthers and we’ll look to continue that momentum here. With that in mind, let’s get into our Week 6 D/ST streamers.

Week 6 D/ST Streamers

Baltimore Ravens (vs. CIN)

This is easily one of my favorite D/STs streamers of the season. The reason for that is because they just got Brandon Williams back last week and he’s the catalyst of this run defense. He’s one of the best pluggers in the NFL and he completely changes everything for this defense. If you take out the Week 3 game he got injured in and the Week 4 game he missed, this defense has allowed just 118 rushing yards in the other three fixtures combined. That’s an absurd average and that’s scary against a team who’s only dangerous offensive player right now is their RB (Joe Mixon).

Let’s talk a little about the Bengals. Dating back to last season, this team has a 1-11 record without A.J. Green, averaging fewer than 20 points per game. That ugly scoring total is paired with this dreadful offensive line, as Cincy is ranked 29th with 20 sacks allowed. That makes it all the less surprising that they rank 26th in yardage and 29th in points scored this season while sitting 28th in turnovers. Vegas agrees with our assessment, making Baltimore an 11.5-point favorite with Cincinnati projected for just 18 points.

Dallas Cowboys (at NYJ)

The Cowboys have quietly developed into one of the best defensive units in the league and a fluky Aaron Jones game is making them too widely-available. Prior to that ugly Week 5 performance, Dallas actually allowed just 14 points per game. That’s obviously one of the best marks in the NFL and it’s backed up by the fact that they currently rank sixth in yardage surrendered this season. The biggest reason we like them this week is because they face the Jets though, entering this matchup as a 7.5-point favorite in a game with a total of 43.

This New York offense actually rewarded us with that 40-point gem from the Eagles last week, so we need to go right back to the well. Not only does this Jets offense rank 31st in points scored, but they also rank dead-last in total yardage. It’s not really close either, with this club averaging an embarrassing 179.5 yards per game. That’s less than Christian McCaffrey, by a lot! While we do expect Sam Darnold back, this offensive line remains the same. This is a unit that’s allowed 23 sacks and 40 QB hits, which are both the worst marks in the NFL. Continue to use D/ST streamers against the Jets until they can prove otherwise.

Washington Redskins (at MIA)

It’s hard to argue that the Jets don’t have the worst offense in football but if you wanted to do that, the Dolphins would be a good counter. This club is actually averaging just 6.5 points per game, which is obviously the worst mark in football. They also rank 31st in yardage and currently allow opposing D/STs to score the most fantasy points against them. That becomes even less shocking when you consider that they have the worst turnover rate in the league and have allowed 4.5 sacks per game, the second-worst mark in the NFL.

While banking on Washington is a risky proposition, the fact remains that this matchup is too good to pass up. There are some quality pieces on this unit too, with players like Josh Norman, Ryan Kerrigan and Landon Collins making up this D/ST. That’s plenty of talent to hold down an offense like this and recording seven takeaways is a good indicator that they have what it takes to be effective in such a tasty matchup. The fact that they enter this matchup as a 3.5-point favorite with Miami projected for only 18.5 points also tells us that this is one of the best D/ST streamers of the week.

Tennessee Titans (at DEN)

I live in Denver and these fans are truly on the ledge. All the talk is about how bad this offense is and it’s really no surprise when you look at the personnel. Having Joe Flacco at quarterback is obviously not great but it looks worse when you have a bad offensive line and no elite playmakers. That’s clear when you see that the Broncos currently rank 27th in points scored and 21st in sacks allowed.

What makes that scary is the fact that they have to face one of the most underrated defenses in the league here. In fact, the Titans currently rank sixth in points allowed and eighth in yardage surrendered. Much of that can be attributed to their dominant front-seven, with the Titans ranked fourth in total sacks. That’s bad news for a weak offensive line like this and I truly expect this to be one of the lowest-scoring games of the week, with a measly 39-point total in this fixture.

Week 6 D/ST Streamers to Consider

Miami Dolphins (vs. WSH): This is Miami’s best chance to win a game all season and they may go all out against this putrid Washington offense.

Denver Broncos (vs. TEN): While Denver’s D hasn’t been performing from a fantasy perspective, they still rank sixth in points allowed. That’s really all we can ask for from a home team who faces a bottom-10 offense.
