College Football DFS Bargains for Saturday Slate

Noon Games

Quinten Harris, Duke

Draft Kings Price: $7,800

FanDuel Price: NA

Quinten Harris’ dual-threat abilities have done wonders for the Duke offense that has jumped from 64th to 45th in scoring offense from 2018 to 2019. Harris is averaging more fantasy points per game than Charlie Brewer and Trevor Lawrence and comes in cheaper than the former against a Georgia Tech defense who has allowed less than 20 points to only one team this year.

Malik Cunningham, Louisville

Draft Kings Price: NA

FanDuel Price: $8,900

FanDuel always jacks the prices up on quarterbacks but don’t overlook Malik Cunningham who is the 13th most expensive quarterback in the noon timeslot. Cunningham took over the Cardinal’s offense when Puma Pass unexpectedly went down in the earlier part of the season and has only upped his fantasy scores from week to week. Wake Forest has a powerful enough offense to win but not a strong enough defense to keep Cunningham from chasing. Allow his dual-threat abilities to carry you to some cash this week in a favorable matchup.

Kenneth Gainwell, Memphis

Draft Kings Price: NA

FanDuel Price: $8,700

So, I know that players just above the average aren’t exactly the best of bargains but what FanDuel is doing with Gainwell is downright ridiculous. Gainwell is listed as the 13th ranked option at running back while averaging the third-most fantasy points per game compared to those in his time slot. FanDuel seems to believe Patrick Taylor Jr. is back in the fold this week when all signs point to him sitting out again. Make FanDuel pay.

Rhamondre Stevenson, Oklahoma

Draft Kings Price: $5,200

FanDuel Price: $7,100

Don’t let Kennedy Brooks and Trey Sermon distract you from the fact that Rhamondre Stevenson has rushed for a touchdown in each of the last four Oklahoma games. This week the Sooners are taking on the Longhorns and this game hasn’t finished with less than 50 points scored total since 2015. Expect Stevenson to get a fair share of carries while he continues his scoring streak against a brutal, injury-riddled Texas defense.

Roshon Johnson, Texas

Draft Kings Price: $5,400

FanDuel Price: $7,700

Texas’ woes on the ground are something that has been ongoing since Donta Foreman went for over 1,000 yards before going pro. Keontay Ingram was believed to be the solution but his injury woes from last season have only bled on into the 2019 season. Injuries to Jordan Whittington have also opened up opportunities for former-quarterback Roshon Johnson to display his athleticism.

Johnson took 21 carries last week against West Virginia for over 100 yards and allowed the Texas offense to move without Sam Ehlinger having to do everything himself. This week, Johnson will be needed on Saturday against Oklahoma if the Longhorns expect to take home the easier route to the Big 12 championship.

Devonta Smith, Alabama

Draft Kings Price: $6,500

Draft Kings spaces on injured players more often than not. They are doing this once again this week with Devonta Smith who exploded two weeks ago against Ole Miss with 274 yards and five touchdowns. Smith is a must-add against Texas A&M given that his ceiling opposite Jerry Jeudy is so high. Also worth noting he is available in the 3:30 slot.

Deshaunte Jones, Iowa State

Draft Kings Price: $8,200

FanDuel Price: $5,400

Iowa State’s offense is leased, owned, and operated through the arm and legs of Brock Purdy. Deshaunte Jones has dominated the receiving production over Iowa State’s last three contests including 10 receptions for 110 yards last week against TCU. Iowa State takes on Draft Kings’ 153rd ranked team for Points Against in West Virginia. Expect a huge game from Jones who comes in at an incredibly reasonable price.

Collin Johnson, Texas

Draft Kings Price: $5,200

FanDuel Price: $7,500

Collin Johnson was sidelined earlier in the season and CFF owners have either dropped him or anxiously awaited his return in the process. He’s confirmed to be playing this week in what is the biggest game of Texas’ season until the Big 12 championship game. Johnson caught six passes for 81 yards and a score last year in round one and followed it up with eight receptions for 177 yards and a score in round two. Texas didn’t sideline Johnson until he’s healthy to not use him.

3:30 Games

Charlie Brewer, Baylor

Draft Kings Price: $7,900

FanDuel Price: $9,300

The 3:30 slate has featured matchups including Alabama vs Texas A&M, Washington State vs Arizona State, and Clemson vs Florida State. The best options at quarterback are Tua Tagovailoa and Anthony Gordon are ridiculously expensive and you can go for those guys or spend significantly less on a quarterback who has the potential to score 30 points any given week. Texas Tech’s offense is good enough under Jett Duffey to keep the game interesting as Brewer carves up the Red Raider defense.

Johnnie Lang, Iowa State

Draft Kings Price: $7,800

FanDuel Price: $4,800

Iowa State’s offense has struggled mightily on the ground this season and it appears that we finally have a front runner. Lang took 16 carries last weekend for 72 yards and a pair of scores and was the leader of the backfield for a second consecutive week. West Virginia allowed 100+ yards to Texas running back Roshon Johnson last week as well as four rushing touchdowns. Lang and Brock Purdy both have high upside this week.

TJ Simmons, West Virginia

Draft Kings Price: $5,100

FanDuel Price: $7,400

TJ Simmons was expected to have a huge season but the inconsistencies of the offense and the burst production from Sam James. James was healthy last week but Simmons still managed to catch seven passes for over 100 yards against Texas and now he’s taking on Iowa State who is allowing 234 yards to opposing offenses.

Jhamon Ausbon, Texas A&M

Draft Kings Price: $5,700

FanDuel Price: $7,800

Texas A&M goes up against Alabama this week and even though the Tide have a strong defense, they give up a lot of points when they begin to put in their second-string players. They gave up 30 points to Ole Miss last weekend in garbage time and Texas A&M has a great chance to achieve the same feat. Jhamon Ausbon has caught six or more passes in each of the last four games with 65+ yards in each of them. Ausbon is one of Kellen Mond’s favorite targets and Quartney Davis will be the player drawing the attention of the starting corners away from him.

7:00 Games

Tanner Morgan, Minnesota

Draft Kings Price: $6,200

FanDuel Price: $9,200

Minnesota’s offense has looked great for the majority of the season and has only improved with the return of Shannon Brooks who may or may not pop up on this list again later. Tanner Morgan has also done his part for the success of this offense with 12 passing touchdowns compared to only three interceptions. There’s also his 21 fantasy points per game to think of and the dynamic duo of receivers in Rashod Bateman and Tyler Johnson.

Malik Cunningham, Louisville

Draft Kings Price: NA

FanDuel Price: $8,900

See earlier entry. Also, I don’t get why a 7:30 start time is classified in the 7:00 time slot and the Noon but here we are. Thanks, FanDuel.

Javien Hawkins, Louisville

Draft Kings Price: $5,200

FanDuel Price: $8,300

Louisville’s ground game is dominated by an ACC Freshman of the Year candidate Javien Hawkins. Hawkins has played admirably in many games this season and will make a great addition to may lineups this week against a weak Wake Forest defense. Louisville’s game script will require the ground game to succeed so they can put the ball in the hands of their best players.

Shannon Brooks, Minnesota

Draft Kings Price: $4,900

FanDuel Price: $7,000

Shannon Brooks finally made a full go effort on the field this season and went for 100+ yards on 16 carries. This week Minnesota takes on Nebraska who has allowed 11 rushing touchdowns this year. Although Rodney Smith has made the biggest contributions to the offense, PJ Fleck has had success using two backs before.

Scotty Washington, Wake Forest

Draft Kings Price: $6,400

FanDuel Price: $8,600

Scotty Washington may not be the No. 1 target for the Demon Deacons but he’s still managed four touchdowns in the past four games. Louisville’s defense isn’t very much improved from last season but their offense can keep them around and most importantly keep their starters in the game. Surratt and Washington are both great plays this week.

Wan’Dale Robinson, Nebraska

Draft Kings Price: $5,600

FanDuel Price: $8,000

Nebraska’s offense isn’t what it was last year and I’m not sure if its the line or if it’s the lingering injuries to Adrian Martinez that’s causing it. Either way, Wan’Dale Robinson has been able to succeed in the background as a rusher and as a receiver. He’s had multiple games with double-digit carries and multiple receptions. Minnesota doesn’t have the stoutest of defenses and will allow a lot of yards to the talented freshman.
