College Football DFS Bargains for CFF Week 7 Midweek Games

Options are few and far between for College Football DFS this week considering the lack of matchups in the midweek slate as it is. Thursday Night is only running with two games in which there is one quarterback worth your time and Friday night is a mixed bag of uncertainty. I’ve sat down and figured out which players will give you the most bang for your buck in Week Eight’s Thursday and Friday night games.

DFS Bargains for CFF Week 7

Thursday Night

QB, Layne Hatcher, Arkansas State

Draft Kings Price: $6,800

FanDuel Price: $9,700

I understand that taking the top-ranked quarterback off of the board is a bit of a copout but you haven’t seen the other options. UCLA quarterback DTR is still sidelined, Davis Mills and KJ Costello are both injured, and Levi Lewis hasn’t produced numbers since week four against Ohio. Layne Hatcher is the clear best quarterback on the board and obvious addition to lineups this Thursday.

RB, Cameron Scarlett, Stanford

Draft Kings Price: $6,000

FanDuel Price: $9,200

There are a few decent options at running back this week and Cameron Scarlett is the one that I’m feeling the most confident in. Scarlett was the focal point of the Cardinal offense last week when Davis Mills went down and this week will be no different considering Mills and Costello are still sidelined. UCLA has given up 100+ yards in the last four weeks to each team’s leading rusher and Scarlett will undoubtedly tote the rock 30+ times and top 100 yards.

RB, Trey Ragas, Louisiana

Draft Kings Price: $6,300

FanDuel Price: $8,500

The Ragin Cajuns really heavily on their ground game and Trey Ragas is the top option in the backfield for Louisiana. Ragas had a strong start to begin the season with four consecutive weeks with 20 or more fantasy points but hit a snag against App State’s stellar defensive unit last week. Now he is going up against Arkansas State in a matchup of touchdowns in which Ragas will have to summon the back that he was before the bye week that cranked out 500+ yards and seven scores.

RB, Marcel Murray, Arkansas State

Draft Kings Price: $5,400

FanDuel Price: $7,600

Arkansas State’s offense will get a big boost this week with Marcel Murray returning to the team for the first time since week two. Murray’s injury has held him on the sideline for most of the season but a strong return last week opens things up for the Red Wolves offense and Alabama-transfer quarterback Layne Hatcher. Now that Murray is in full health, he will easily see more than the seven touches he got last weekend.

WR, Ja’Marcus Bradley, Louisiana

Draft Kings Price: $5,000

FanDuel Price: $8,300

Although ULL relies more on its ground game, it hasn’t stopped Ja’Marcus Bradley from averaging 15+ points per game in matchups he started and finished. Last week, he left his matchup against App State with an ankle issue but is expected to be full-go for the Cajuns this week in a matchup where the Cajuns need any and every ounce of offense they can manage. Bradley is almost assured one touchdown and five receptions this week in a great offensive matchup against Arkansas State.

WR, Michael Wilson, Stanford

Draft Kings Price: $5,300

FanDuel Price: $7,800

While the Cardinals are in a place of confusion at the quarterback position, they have a favorable matchup against UCLA who doesn’t do much on defense to stop anyone. Despite the inconsistencies at Stanford’s quarterback position this season, Michael Wilson is averaging 12 yards per reception, five receptions, 63 yards, and a score every other game. He may not be the biggest of DFS bargains but he seems to be a great play against a weaker defense on a night with very few options.

WR, Kyle Phillips, UCLA

Draft Kings Price: $5,200

FanDuel Price: $7,600

UCLA took a hit when Dorian Thompson-Robinson went down but there were some UCLA players that still managed to produce. The Bruins produced 492 total yards on the legs of Demetric Felton and Joshua Kelley as well as the receiving performance of Kyle Phillips. Phillips is the favorite target of Austin Burton and he comes in at an incredibly reasonable price against a weak Stanford defense.

Friday Night DFS Bargains

QB, Chris Robison, FAU

Draft Kings Price: $7,200

FanDuel Price: NA

I mentioned that the weeknight games are miserable when it comes to the depth at certain positions this week. Thankfully, Draft Kings offer FAU’s Chris Robison to DFS players instead of Justin Fields who would be the obvious start on FanDuel. Robison had an electric few weeks but slipped back against Middle Tennessee who has a relatively decent passing defense. Marshall’s pass defense isn’t the best and Robison will have more to work with Malcolm Davidson emerging.

QB, Kenny Pickett, Pitt

Draft Kings Price: $6,600

FanDuel Price: $8,800

I throw Kenny Pickett in as a counter-option for Justin Fields who you might as well just spend the money on this weekend. Pickett is a fairly noteworthy option this week against Syracuse. He’s gotten 18+ points in every game since week two with no less than 37 passing attempts. Syracuse’s defense is very inconsistent and Pitt will manipulate their weaknesses in the passing game with Taysir Mack and Maurice Ffrench.

*Added note, Taysir Mack and Maurice Ffrench are excellent plays and you should acquire whichever is cheaper

RB, Malcolm Davidson, FAU

Draft Kings Price: $5,000

FanDuel Price: NA

FAU has boasted incredible running backs over the past several seasons with Devin Singletary and Kerrith Whyte. Although Larry McCammon appeared to be the next in line after BJ Emmons went down, it is Malcolm Davidson who cleaned up last week with 150+ yards on 20 carries. Davidson is still a bit of an unknown for many teams and it will be difficult for the Herd to stop both FAU’s strong passing game and power running game.

RB, AJ Davis, Pitt

Draft Kings Price: $5,800

FanDuel Price: $8,000

Although AJ Davis hasn’t been the guy that Qadree Ollison and Darrin Hall were last season, he’s maintained fantasy relevance not only on the ground but through the air. Davis has caught 12 passes including seven two weeks ago against Penn State. Davis has a great matchup against Syracuse who’s rush defense has given up multiple big games this season to opposing backs making Davis one of my favorite DFS bargains of the week.

WR, Randal Grimes, UNLV

Draft Kings Price: $4,700

FanDuel Price: $7,400

Kenyon Oblad has shifted the way the Rebels offense operates given that he’s much more talented throwing the ball than Armani Rogers is. This change in guard opened up the door for USC-transfer Randal Grimes who went for over 50 yards receiving in each of his last three contests. UNLV takes on Fresno State this week and will need to pass as the Fresno defense zeros in on stopping Charles Williams and Chad Magyar.
