FanDuel

Saturday, September 28, 2019 – Noon

RB, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt

Price: $8,800

Vanderbilt’s offense just hasn’t looked the same this season and I firmly believe that’s due to Riley Neal. One person who has seemingly found his way back from the dumps is Ke’Shawn Vaughn. Vaughn is the only thing going for the ‘Dores these days and he’s expected to have a field day this weekend against Northern Illinois.

RB, Khalil Herbert, Kansas

Price: $7,800

It’s hard to believe that Kansas is already looking night and day better than they were a season ago. Khalil Herbert has been a huge playmaker for the Jayhawks despite trailing Pooka Williams in total touches. Herbert has had multiple 100+ yard games and he’s a safe bet against TCU who allowed three touchdowns to three different SMU backs last week.

WR, Jalen Reagor, TCU

Price: $7,700

Jalen Reagor has most certainly not been himself this season but that doesn’t mean he can’t get back to that. It’s very likely that TCU loses to Kansas this week but that doesn’t man that Reagor falls by the wayside again. The Jayhawks defense isn’t very strong and TCU has to do things to get the ball to Reagor. Plus he’s far under average player price so you lose nothing if you take advantage of the money you’re saving.

Saturday, September 28, 2019 – 3:30 P.M.

QB, Tanner Morgan, Minnesota

Price: $8,100

Minnesota has plenty of talent on its offense and is really missing a topflight quarterback to really take it to the next level. Nonetheless, Tanner Morgan benefits the most from the talent on offense and will be a part of a shootout this week against Purdue who brings Elijah Sindelar back into the fold. Throw Morgan into your lineups for an incredibly cheap price.

QB, Skylar Thompson, Kansas State

Price: $7,500

Kansas State has looked very improved this season and that includes quarterback Skylar Thompson who has made due with what he has and got the job done on his legs. While the offense isn’t what I’d call explosive, but they do go up against a weak Oklahoma State defense and are doing what they can to remain undefeated.

RB, Richard Newton, Washington

Price: $8,300

Salvon Ahmed is undoubtedly the starter for the Washington Huskies from week to week but Ahmed is out this week and Newton has looked like the next Washington stud in relief of Ahmed all season long. Newton comes in at an incredibly reasonable price this week against USC who has relied heavily on their offense this season to get wins.

RB, Kenneth Walker III, Wake Forest

Price: $7,000

Kenneth Walker III wasn’t a popular name coming into fall camp but has scratched and clawed his way up the depth chart to a point to where he’s looked at as a future stud by most CFF experts. Wake Forest has Boston College this week, a team that has allowed big plays to explosive backs multiple times in the last several weeks. Walker may only need one carry to really make a splash this game.

TE, Cole Kmet, Notre Dame

Price: $6,900

One game is all it took for the talented Cole Kmet to become Notre Dame’s second-leading receiver on the season. Notre Dame is in dire need of playmakers with Jafar Armstrong sidelined and the low ceiling of Ian Book’s arm-talent. Cole Kmet is a focal point of this Irish offense as they try to remain in the CFP picture in a win over Virginia.

WR, Wan’Dale Robinson, Nebraska

Price: $7,200

Nebraska has a tough task on their hands this week with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State is going to score and score fast which means that Nebraska is going to need to pass the ball. While JD Spielman is the featured wide receiver, Wan’Dale proved to be the offensive weapon we knew he could be last week and will likely be utilized in large capacity this week with Maurice Washington still healing up. Robinson comes in incredibly cheap for his ceiling and he’s just looking for a home on a roster.

Saturday, September 28, 20197:00 P.M.

QB, Mason Fine, North Texas

Price: $7,700

The late slate doesn’t have nearly as many options as the earlier slates do for obvious reasons and that leaves your options for top talent that much slimmer. While Mason Fine hasn’t been as dominant as he has in the past, a game against a Houston team who just lost D’Eriq King was the antidote for Kelvin Hopkins last season. Sit back, relax, and watch Mason Fine go crazy.

RB, Kyle Porter, Houston

Price: $7,600

Kyle Porter has been the most stable running back Houston has had in a long time and now the D’Eriq King is out of the picture they will need him more than ever. North Texas has allowed eight touchdowns on the ground over a four-game period as well as 710 yards making them a bottom 30 rush defense. Porter has bullied his way into the spotlight and will now be relied on more than ever.

WR, Nate Craig-Myers, Colorado State

Price: $6,400

While Draft Kings is keeping Dante Wright under average cost, FanDuel is keeping Auburn-transfer Nate Craig-Myers under the radar. Craig-Myers was a trendy addition before the season and actually had a solid debut last week. With Colorado State missing Warren Jackson and Marvin Kinsey, Patrick O’Brien will need Craig-Myers and Dante Wright to produce this week in order to keep them on track to contend for the MWC.

WR, Bryan Edwards, South Carolina

Price: $8,100

I’m not going to dismiss Ryan Hillinski after one rough outing. Everyone has their bad days. Someone who hasn’t had a bad day since Jake Bentley went down is Bryan Edwards. Edwards went over 100 yards last week with a score while getting demolished and is Hillinski’s clear favorite receiver. Kentucky hasn’t looked nearly as good this season as they did last season defensively. Edwards is going to have another solid day and South Carolina fans are going to get back on the Hillinski train.

Draft Kings

Friday, September 27, 2019

QB, Josh Love, San Jose State

Price: $6,800

Although he isn’t the most consistent quarterback in the Friday night slate, it’s hard to ignore Josh Love’s two score, 400+ yard outing against Arkansas last week. Love’s game improved very much so with the return of 2018’s leading receiver Tre Walker who had missed time earlier this season. Air Force’s passing defense is no pushover but there will be plenty of offense on the field as the Armed Forces school is top five in rushing offense.

WR, Tre Walker, San Jose State

Price: $5,900

Tre Walker finished last season as the Spartans leading receiver and looks to double on that this season after a dominant return against Arkansas in which he caught 12 balls for 161 yards. Walker is a stud that I added in almost every league that I’m in and he comes in super cheap this week.

WR, Geraud Sanders, Air Force

Price: $4,600

Air Force isn’t historically a passing team but in the last few games, they’ve really leaned on Geraud Sanders. In his previous two contests, Sanders has scored 31.7 fantasy points and has had a touchdown in both. San Jose State has an excellent offense but one of the worst total defenses nationally leaving a lot of upside for the Air Force guys on a night with very few generous matchups.

Saturday, September 28, 2019 – Noon/3:30 P.M.

QB, Jamie Newman, Wake Forest

Price: $7,800

I don’t know what DraftKings is thinking by making Jamie Newman the fifth most expensive quarterback for the Noon slate. Newman has made the Demon Deacons into the 11th ranked offense nationally and he himself has accounted for 15 of the teams 19 touchdowns this season. Newman is an easy start against Boston College who has struggled with Kansas and Rutgers in the past two weeks.

QB, Brock Purdy, Iowa State

Price: $7,500

I promise this isn’t an overreaction from his six-touchdown performance a week ago. Brock Purdy is Iowa State football this season and needs to have a big game this week against Baylor if the Cyclones still want to contend for Big 12 prominence. He’s had some new faces around him step up to the plate to help out and Baylor isn’t exactly the pinnacle of defensive prowess this season. Expect no less than three scores from Purdy.

RB, Richard Newton, Washington

Price: $5,200

(See Earlier Mention)

RB, Kenneth Walker III, Wake Forest

Price: $5,100

(See Earlier Mention)

TE, Cole Kmet, Notre Dame

Price: $5,100

(See Earlier Mention)

WR, Charleston Rambo, Oklahoma

Price: $5,600

What if I told you that you could have the leading receiver in the Oklahoma offense for $1,000 less than average player price. Well, Charleston Rambo currently leads the Sooners in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns over every Sooner receiver including CeeDee Lamb. This week, the Sooners take on Texas Tech who are in a panic over the quarterback position after Alan Bowman went down for an extended period of time.

WR, Tarique Milton, Iowa State

Price: $5,000

I mentioned that players have stepped up for Brock Purdy in recent weeks and Tarique Milton is by far the most notable. He’s caught nine balls for over 200 yards and a pair of scores over the past two weeks and looks like he might be emerging as the top dog in the pecking order in Ames, Iowa. This week he is a much-needed playmaker for the Clones in and this could be a statement game for the Sophomore.

Saturday, September 28, 2019 – 7:00 P.M.

QB, Patrick O’Brien, Colorado State

Price: $5,600

Colorado State has plenty going on this week in terms of missing players but I’m not afraid of throwing Patrick O’Brien into my line ups. O’Brien made his first start last week after a devastating injury to Collin Hill and threw for more than 300 yards. He may not have Marvin Kinsey or Warren Jackson but they do have a freshman stud in Dante Wright and Auburn-transfer Nate Craig Myers that can ease the burden of those losses. Expect O’Brien to be the offensive playmaker for a Rams team that needs him to be that this week.

QB, Jake Luton, Oregon State

Price: $5,000

Oregon State’s offense has been the only thing keeping them relevant this season. Jake Luton hasn’t been what I thought he could be this season but he hasn’t gone up against the easiest of defenses so far. This week the Beavers take on an awful Stanford defensive unit that has just been demolished from week to week all season long. Expect a big game from Luton with Jermar Jefferson questionable heading into the contest.

RB, Marcus McElroy, Colorado State

Price: $4,000

Colorado State’s Marvin Kinsey really came on before exiting last weeks matchup injured and it’s a shame that he’s done for a while. In his absence, Marcus McElroy will benefit from those carries and try to fill that backfield void left by Kinsey. McElroy was someone I had my eye on after a strong Spring but clearly Kinsey was far too talented to leave on the bench. The young back comes in at almost minimum costs and will at the minimum receive plenty of carries.

RB, Cam Akers, Florida State

Price: $8,200

I normally don’t throw in obvious additions or expensive players but sometimes the matchup is just far too good. Cam Akers and the Noles are going up against the NC State Wolfpack this week and might be without James Blackman. Akers will need to pick up the slack where he can with Alex Hornibrook likely running the offense. He’s averaging over 31 points per game so far this year and will have another big week against the Pack who were torn apart by Kennedy McKoy a few weeks ago.

WR, Dante Wright, Colorado State

Price: $5,500

Draft Kings is not very good at remembering to check for injured before setting prices. Warren Jackson is not playing this week and Dante Wright is performing at just as high a level as Jackson was before sitting out this week. Wright is incredibly cheap and will make Draft Kings regret pricing him so low just like they regretted pricing Jackson low week one.

WR, Siaosi Mariner, Utah State

Price: $5,400

Jordan Love has looked fine through the air this season but the touchdowns just haven’t come as they did under Matt Wells. One thing he has done well this season is find Siaosi Mariner. Mariner has 20+ receptions and leads the Aggies in receiving yards and touchdowns. This week will be a bounce-back week for Utah State against a weak Colorado State defensive unit.

Saturday, September 28, 2019 – 10:00 P.M.

QB, Christian Solano, Nevada

Price: $6,700

Unfortunately, Carson Strong will have to miss out on a career day with an injury he sustained last weekend. This does, however, open up the door for Christian Solano who many expected to win out this offseason before sustaining an injury to his throwing arm. Solano was electric through the air and on the ground last week and is due for a huge game against Hawaii and the run and shoot offense.

QB, Anthony Gordon, Washington State

Price: $7,800

I’m not going to dive into this one too much. Anthony Gordon threw nine touchdown passes last week and is leading the nation in individual offensive yards. It doesn’t matter who he’s playing if he has the potential to throw for nine touchdowns.

WR, Cedric Byrd II, Hawaii

Price: $5,900

When it comes to Hawaii’s receivers, I often go with the cheaper option between JoJo Ward and Cedric Byrd. Byrd is the cheaper man despite have more receptions and receiving yards so far this season. Best case scenario, Byrd has a week zero kind of day while the worst case is he catches three balls with one being in the endzone. High Floor/High Ceiling.

WR, Elijah Cooks, Nevada

Price: $5,000

Elijah Cooks is doing just as I predicted he would all offseason and is dominating the endzone targets for the Nevada Wolfpack. Cooks has four touchdown receptions and leads the team in receiving yards. No matter who plays quarterback for this team Cooks remains the main target in the receiving game.
