Fantasy Basketball Buy-Low Targets

Anthony Edwards

Edwards was almost a top-40 guy last season so hard to imagine he’s suddenly 100 spots worse. I fully expect him to clean up the free throw percentage and turnovers. It’s impossible to question Ant-Man’s work ethic. He’s a star and it will show in fantasy.

Bam Adebayo

Lowry arriving in Miami last season did take away assists from Bam and in turn some fantasy value. Bam’s had a rough start this season. He’s a fringe all-star talent in the East and there’s no way he shouldn’t be a top-50 fantasy value this season.

Domantas Sabonis

Across the board, stats are down for Sabonis, but you have to consider he was playing basketball in the summer for the Lithuanian national team. He’ll round into form soon enough.

Evan Mobley

I’ve seen the people use the addition of Mitchell in Cleveland against Mobley. A lot of Mobley’s value last season came from the defensive side of the ball. In theory, having another scorer could limit Mobley’s touches. However, Evan Mobley is good and the Cavs being too talented isn’t reason enough to derail his fantasy value.

Tyrese Maxey

The Sixers have had a weird start to the season playing heavily through Harden. Whether that continues or not Maxey is way too talented to not produce. And furthermore, we saw him produce beside playing beside Harden after the trade last season.

Mikal Bridges

We’re going to see the Mikal Bridges that was a top-60 guy last season. It’s just a matter of time until he starts knocking down threes and gets his defensive stats up. If you can acquire him for a top 100 player you should do it.

Jamal Murray

There was a lot of hype around Murray in the fantasy community leading up to this season. I’m not surprised he’s started slow after returning from a major injury. I’d be interested in him if the price is right, but it might take a month until we see 90% of the pre-injury Jamal Murray.

Jordan Poole

He was pretty bad in the first two games of the season, but I don’t think the Poole party is over. In those bad games, he was picking up assists and steals. And he has since followed up those bad games with a solid one. The Warriors didn’t invest $140M for Jordan Poole to be a mediocre bench player.

Kyle Lowry

There’s this narrative that Lowry is washed. Now he may not be in his prime anymore, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have value. Is the Kyle Lowry ride going to be a roller coaster? Yes, but buckle up and watch the assists roll in.

Mitchell Robinson

His free throw percentage is going to suck, but if you can stomach it I’d buy. Coach Thibodeau was raving up Mitchell Robinson prior to the season. If Mitch stays healthy and can avoid getting into foul trouble every night he’ll be a useful fantasy commodity for field goal percentage, blocks, and rebounds.

Tari Eason

Tari Eason had a fabulous preseason and really sold me on his upside. He needs more minutes to harness his value. It may take a few weeks but I believe a small investment in this rookie will pay off if you can steal him from a rival manager.

Onyeka Okongwu

We all know Okongwu is good. Right now Clint Capela is blocking him from the minutes he deserves. Okongwu is a good fantasy trade target if you can stash him in a roto league and wait for his minutes to come up.
