The Monday Morning Sleeper – Deep Sleeper Edition

Welcome to this weeks' edition of the Monday Morning Sleeper, Deep Sleeper Edition. Last week I profiled a potential No. 1 wide receiver for the Bears named Cameron Meredith, who is poised to take the reins in Chicago. This week I will be profiling four deep sleepers who may pay off for savvy managers who have the faith to take a "Hail Mary" on them late in fantasy drafts.A Fantasy Football Sleeper is a player that is in a position to play beyond their rankings or expectations, is a relative unknown, and who may provide…

MLB August Trade Deadline Fantasy Impact

The July 31st MLB trade deadline recently passed last week, but that doesn't mean there won't be more players swapping teams this season. Teams can make trades through September, but the players can't play in the postseason unless they're traded before August 31st. In order for a player on the 40-man roster to be traded, they must be placed on revocable waivers, which lasts 47 hours. If the player isn't claimed, his team can freely trade him anywhere, except to teams the player has on his no-trade list. If the player is…

ESPN Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups – Week Of August 6, 2017

Back by popular demand, this week's article will kick off with a trivia question. With the MLB trade deadline now passed, our topic is trades and pop culture. Here is this week's question:  In an episode of the TV show "Seinfeld," George was thought to be dead by his employers at the time, the New York Yankees. George Steinbrenner thus visits his home to inform his parents. Instead of being grieved about his son's "death," Mr. Costanza attacks Steinbrenner for trading which player in 1988? Answer at the end of the article.…

Two-Start Pitchers: Week of August 7, 2017

Now that rosters have somewhat settled after the trade deadline, we enter the dog days of summer and the two-thirds mark of the season. Most teams have made their case as contenders or pretenders by now. We may start to see more and more auditions by younger players for next season or extending rest to weary veterans in hopes of keeping them fresh for the stretch run. Keep a close eye on the disabled list before setting lineups for surprise announcements like these. You will notice that our tiers are pretty balanced this…

EPL Fantasy Sleepers

Let me start by saying that I see sleepers as either players who can bring you as many fantasy points as some of the higher ranked/pricier options, or as players who might not contribute right away but will become wanted fantasy commodities at some point during the season. GOALKEEPERS Jack Butland (Stoke City) - When Butland was lost for the season last year, Lee Grant took over and the team didn’t miss a beat. Now that Butland is back, his value is somewhat in limbo because of Grant’s presence. Everton’s Pickford, for…

Fantasy Hockey Sleepers 2017-18: Goalies

This week our focus will be on my top five sleeper goaltenders that can help solidify your fantasy team.  Sleeper goalies are hard to come by due to the limited number of goaltenders in the league. Most teams already have their starter, and only a few will have competition for the backup job this season. This list will consist of the five goalies I think will make a difference this year. Here are some of my past sleeper articles: Fantasy Hockey Sleepers for 2017-18: Centers, Fantasy Hockey Sleepers for 2017-18: Right Wing,…

Fantasy EPL: Top Players by Position

GOALKEEPERS Thibault Courtois – The reigning champions’ shot stopper is the most sure-fire pick in any draft. Not only is he one of the best keepers in the world, he also has a great back four in front of him and plays for an Italian coach who used to be a defender. That leaves him unoccupied most of the time, and he’s usually up for the challenge when called upon to make a save or two.David De Gea – Playing for what should be an improved team overall, De Gea could have the most clean sheets since he joined Manchester…

Fantasy Football 2017: Is Mike Gillislee a TD Sleeper?

Bill Belichick visited Sirius XM NFL Radio on Tuesday. He said, and I quote, “Hopefully, we'll be a little bit less of a Blount on first down and short, and Lewis on second down, White on third down, that type of .”In a nutshell, predictable. The Patriots hope to become less plain Jane and a little more, let's say, fancy Nancy. LeGarrette Blount out, Mike Gillislee in, Patriots running backs are normally the kind that make fantasy owners sweat. Guessing who's going to receive bulk carries on a weekly basis has almost…

NHL Prospect Report: Buffalo Sabres

Buffalo Sabres From now until the start of next season, I’ll be looking at each NHL team’s prospect situation and assessing each prospect’s projected fantasy value. With all due respect to turnover leagues, I will be focusing solely on keeper and dynasty leagues, because prospects have minimal value in re-draft leagues. Most fantasy leagues vary in structure, so for the purpose of this exercise, I will be referring to leagues that include a main roster and a prospect roster, each with their own respective draft. This…

NBA Fantasy Sleepers: Atlantic Division

After covering the Southeast Division's sleepers last week, this week we move on to the Atlantic Division. The division includes two teams fighting for a conference finals berth, one team coming to the tail end of "the process," and two more teams who are stuck in the basement of the NBA. The varying situations of the teams in the Atlantic Division create an interesting fantasy dynamic. The sleepers for the two best teams are players who can fill roles in a fantasy lineup, while the other three could be legitimate fantasy…
