2022 Fantasy Football: Week 15 Quarterback Streamers

For Week 14, I recommended Jared Goff against the Vikings, Tyler Huntley against the Steelers, and Ryan Tannehill against the Jaguars. Unfortunately, Huntley suffered a concussion and was knocked out of the game, but Goff and Tannehill both came through with strong performances. Goff finished the week as the fantasy QB4, and Tannehill likewise had a solid QB12 finish.

Overall, Week 14 was a success for fantasy GMs who eschewed drafting a quarterback early and have been streaming the position. If you drafted Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes early or managed to snag Justin Fields later on in your drafts, this article probably isn’t for you. But if you’ve been streaming quarterbacks this season or just lost Kyler Murray to the ACL injury, here are some viable Week 15 quarterback streamers with good matchups to target.

Week 15 Quarterback Streamers

Note: The below quarterback streamers are the “best of the rest”, meaning that they’re generally rostered in less than about 50-60 percent of major fantasy football platforms at the time of this writing even after waivers have run on Wednesday.

Mike White (18% ESPN, 26% Yahoo)

As of this writing on Wednesday, reports indicate that the Jets are preparing for Mike White to start. Barring a setback with his bruised ribs, White should be able to play effectively through an injury that will come down to pain management. Even coming in and out of the game against a tough Buffalo defense that ranks seventh in DVOA against the pass last week, White managed to pass for 268 yards and no turnovers. He should fare significantly better at home this week against a Detroit defense that ranks just 21st against the pass.

Detroit also ranks fourth-worst in the league in pass rush win rate, which should give White ample time to pick apart a struggling Lions secondary that has allowed the third-most passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks and the second-most points per game to opponents through 14 weeks. The only concern is that the Jets defense could control the game and keep it fairly low-scoring. Still, White has demonstrated a solid weekly floor in fantasy and has a fair ceiling in this matchup, making him one of the top quarterback streamers for this week.

Daniel Jones (56% ESPN, 57% Yahoo)

Despite subpar passing production, Daniel Jones has a strong floor and high ceiling due to his rushing potential, keeping him among the top quarterback streamers for Week 15. Thus far on the season, Jones ranks fifth among quarterbacks in rushing attempts, fifth in rushing yards, and fourth in rushing touchdowns. In fact, Jones quietly ranks as the QB10 in fantasy points through 14 weeks and the QB13 in fantasy points per game in large part due to his rushing production.

Just two weeks ago, Jones ran the ball 12 times for 71 yards against Washington while passing for 200 yards and one touchdown. Although the Commanders will be sure to try and limit his production on the ground, they’ve struggled to stop mobile quarterbacks, having also allowed 49 rushing yards to Marcus Mariota on just six runs in Week 12 and a rushing touchdown each to Jalen Hurts and Davis Mills in the two games prior to that. Jones should fare well enough on the ground to be a useable fantasy option yet again this week.

Tyler Huntley (25% ESPN, 19% Yahoo)

Although Tyler Huntley was knocked out of last week’s game at Pittsburgh due to a concussion, he was on pace for a decent showing prior to the injury. Before leaving the game against the Steelers early in the second half, Huntley had already rushed nine times for 31 yards. While his status is still in question as of this writing, there’s reason to have optimism about his status for Saturday’s game, as Huntley was already able to log a full practice on Wednesday.

The main concern is that while the Browns have allowed the sixth-most points per game to opponents thus far on the season, much of that has come on the ground, as Cleveland’s defense ranks 30th against the run. This could lead to another strong showing for J.K. Dobbins in his second game back from injury, but Huntley could benefit as well, as the Browns allowed 10 rushing attempts for 59 yards to Lamar Jackson when these two teams last met in Week 7. As with Jones against Washington above, Huntley’s rushing potential makes him one of the top quarterback streamers this week.

Honorable Mentions

In deeper leagues, if none of the above-recommended quarterback streamers are available, Brock Purdy has played well since taking over in San Francisco, and the Seahawks have allowed the third-most points per game to opponents this season. And if you’re desperate, Andy Dalton has been inconsistent as the Saints’ starter this year, but he will be facing a Falcons defense that ranks 29th against the pass, has allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks, and has allowed the 10th most points per game to opponents thus far.
