2018-19 Fantasy Basketball Power Forward Rankings

With the NBA season around the corner, it’s time I took a look at the consensus power forward rankings for the 2018-19 season.

Anthony Davis is the clear top choice for fantasy basketball in 2018-19, no argument from me. I also agreed with Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo at number 2 and 3 respectively.

In a season where the Lakers might not be all in, LeBron James finds himself outside the top 3 fantasy basketball power forwards. James led the league in minutes per game his past 196 contests including the playoffs. Rest may be a common theme this season, but it’s hard to drop him lower than 4th with his contributions.

Kevin Love has had his share of ups and downs in Cleveland. But he’s seen his role steadily increase after the departures of Kyrie Irving and LeBron James. Health is a key reason veteran owners are nervous about the former fantasy basketball darling.

Tobias Harris averaged a career-high 16 shot attempts per game and 3.1 assists since arriving in LALA land. The Clippers have made no changes to their frontcourt and the 25-year-old is playing for a contract in 2019. As a result, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Harris crack the top 10 power forwards. Lots to like here.

Blake Griffin’s recent health and uninspiring second-half stretch in Detroit justify his exclusion from the consensus top 20. It’s no surprise to find him ranked behind sophomore risers in Ben Simmons, John Collins, and Lauri Markkanen.

Keep an eye out for Julius Randle to improve in a high-paced Pelicans offense without the services of DeMarcus Cousins.
